Kicks Martial Arts Centre

My usual Sunday Morning Women's Kickboxing Session became not so normal due to being awarded my 6th Degree at the end of the class by Shihan Robert H Mason and Chairman of ISKA🙏🙏.   

I feel very humbled to receive this recognition after more than 30 years of training, fighting, coaching and growing within the sport🥊🥋🇹🇭. 

It means a great deal, and I would like to thank everyone who has been part of my journey over the last 32 years of my life. All my amazing Instructors over this time both in this country and overseas 💯💯💯; all my wonderful students both past and present🫶🫶, and all my friends and family❤️. 

I am very aware how lucky I am to be part of such a supportive martial arts family and community.

It was fantastic today to be surrounded by some of the amazing women I have the privilege to teach, and thank you so much for your congratulations and heart warming comments💛💛.  I was quite emotional, and unusually for me at a loss for words 😁 but I've found them again now 👏👏👏.

A special thanks to Chris since day 1 for all his knowledge and expertise🫶🫶.  Obviously I wouldn't be where I am today without you so thank you ❤️❤️.    

I am excited to continue on my journey of learning with you all.

Thank you so much to Shihan Robert Heale Mason for an excellent seminar this afternoon on gun defence and groundwork defence.

Robert, Chief Instructor of the University Karate Center in Florida and World Commissioner for the ISKA, brings a wealth of experience and decades of training in martial arts.

We worked through several practical scenarios for both situations. Everyone came away feeling they had learned something valuable and, just as importantly, something they could actually retain and apply.

We’ve all attended seminars where there’s so much information that little sticks when you look back on it a week later. This was the opposite: clear, practical, and memorable. Grateful for the opportunity and the deeper understanding gained.

Well done to Billy Brown on an impressive performance, and his second win last night at Cyclone Fight Night World of combat 🥊

This was Billy’s first evening show, and his hard work in training has really paid off 💯💯. Everything we asked him to improve on since his last fight in March was on display against a skilled and well-matched opponent.

Using his jab to great effect both on its own and to set up his attacks, he worked the angles and in close range was quick to use his knee.

It was a closely contested fight, with his opponent constantly looking to turn things around, so Billy had to stay sharp and focused throughout. A fantastic performance all round 👊 .

Seeing Billy in the corner with his brother, fighter and coach Jamie Brown, was very special🫶. Having known Jamie since he was 6, and watching both of them come up through the ranks, it’s been brilliant to see them grow into the well-rounded, responsible, resilient, and talented young men they are today. It’s a real testament to them and to the benefits of sport and being committed 🙏🙏🙏.

A massive thank you to Lisa Shelton Billy Shelton Billy Shelton Jnr and Joey Shelton, who as always pulled out all the stops to deliver another fantastic Cyclone Fight Night at World of Combat 👏. Fantastic array of talent on display.

Two rings in action at all times. Everything kept low key and calm and professional. No showboating or egos 👌👌.

Congratulations to our team of Juniors and Adults who fought. All stepping into the ring for the first or second time, and all working really hard and staying focused .

Well done to  on his well earnt win by 5th Round TKO 🔥🔥.

Jasper has trained so hard through 2025, & no one watching him would have known this was his debut Thai bout. 

Jasper looked very comfortable right from the start & kept a tight guard whilst looking for his shots.

His ringcraft along with his accurate & powerful straights resulted in a knockdown in round two.  An early result like this can see novice fighters rush in to finish off the job but Jasper continued to control & pace the fight; cutting the ring down & looking for his shots.

In the fifth round Jasper saw his moment & keeping it nice & straight again caught his opponent resulting in a second count, & the referee stopping the fight. 

Well done to his opponent who was strong & well schooled, & brought a class and clean fight between these two 💪💪. Thank you to for this opportunity🙏.

Great to see the respect between all the gyms & to see so many talented fighters in that ring last night. 

Got to say well done to the legend that is .d.silva.37 on his first round stoppage, & also managing to appear calm & unflustered despite the fact alongside this ring return he was also co-ordinating & running the show & looking after everyone else. Enjoy that win 🔥🔥
