WE HAVE A BOAT (named after us)…
On the 26th of July , who kindly let us use their equipment, facilities and provide us with excellent volunteer coaching held a boat naming ceremony. One of the boats unveiled was Up The Suss, a single kindly donated by to Ardingly. The boat was given its name by ARC to honour the relationship between ARC and USRC. The boat was blessed by the lovely father clay (see slide 2/3) and christened by the new ARC director of rowing Jo Searle (slide one), a moment made particularly special as Jo has been a volunteer coach for USRC for a number of years, offering us coaching we would otherwise be unable to access. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the URSC/ARC bond, we are eternally grateful for Ardingly and the support they have consistently given us over the years. Next step: Get UP THE SUSS to BUCS Regatta!

⭐️🇺🇸POINTS ACROSS THE POND🇬🇧⭐️
This summer we’re going head to head with the USA, with teams from Penn State University rowing and Sussex rowing respectively fighting to win the most points!
⭐️Points are gained by completing activities, relative to the amount of time spent doing said activity, with extra points being handed out for racing & either virtually or In person doing an activity with your whole team at the same time!
Special thanks to double agent Holly, who’s just coming to the end of her year abroad at PSU for setting this up!⭐️⭐️

Last night was our end of year awards night, a chance for us to get together and celebrate our year as a club, and say goodbye to our 24/25 committee. This year was very successful for Sussex, and our outgoing committee couldn’t be prouder of how the year has gone. Please enjoy the original and handwritten poem to our outgoing captains Arthur and Ethan, we couldn’t of done this year without you, thanks for everything guys 💙❤️🤍

⭐️BUCS REGATTA 2025⭐️
⚡️15 ENTRIES- joint most ever for Sussex
⚡️2 CHAMPIONSHIP CREWS
⚡️FIRST EVER EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS FROM SUSSEX
⚡️13 BOATS QUALIFYING FOR FINALS
Above everything, thank you to our athletes, who train tirelessly for BUCS, the early mornings and 40 minute drives to training do not go unnoticed, the amount of effort that has gone in to pulling this off is huge. Thank you to our captains and committee for organising the weekend and motivating us to keep pushing through with the finish line of Holme Pierrepont in mind. Thank you to every single person that has contributed to each athletes individual journey here, and to those who have supported our club.
For clubs of our size, age and budget achieving results like this is not easy, we would like to thank for going above and beyond to coach, support and help our team throughout the year. Ardingly supply us with coaching and equipment which is vital for our success as a club, we are endlessly greatful for the relationship we have with them, and look forward to growing this over the coming years. We would also like to thank for providing funding, without SU funding residential competitions would be completely off the cards for us, so a huge thank you for contributing financially, allowing us to enter, transport and accommodate our athletes.
We are hoping to come back bigger, better and of course faster ;) to BUCS next year, this year has been extremely promising for the future of the club and we look forward to proving ourselves further as a university club over the coming years.
