Incredibly sad news to hear of Japan’s former Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
Our thoughts are very much with his family, and of course the Japanese people.

Dear karateKa

Thank you for your patience and tolerance during this period of time.

Although online practice has been welcome it is clearly no substitute for the Dojo in the physical sense, and regrettably our online classes have had to be postponed at times.

I share your keenness to return to the Dojo, and we have come so far.

I believe at this moment we should, and can get excited about the prospect of practice together.

I do however, kindly ask that we continue to wait a while longer.

Let’s see how the next major government update (expected on the 14th June) develops first.

Our safety, the well-being of our friends, families and community remain the schools first priority.

Recently I have been teaching in Dubai, China and Russia at the same time! So impressed with all the young people across the world who won’t let lockdown hamper their academic study’s or their KarateDo practice ! 💥

Today sees the first return to a physical Dojo since lockdown in March.

Ryushinkan Brighton College opens today with 3 classes for borders only. This is our first phase of opening. Clayton Dojo and central Brighton Dojo are being reviewed independently and risk assessed, updates will follow.

Let’s make this a safe and positive return to our Dojo, we have in place, good practice and discipline in line with UK government advice.
Let’s start a new journey and continue to be mindful of those in our community’s and support each other.

A great start to the day at 5:45am! - for those that don’t know , this beach is my back garden. For my hour exercise during lock down I managed to film chinto, wansu, seisan and RyuKen ahead of our live sessions ! The video content will be sent out tomorrow to your WhatsApp group.
