The new fairway bunkers on the left have completely changed the strategy off the tee. Long hitters can’t just smash driver and expect to get away with it anymore — it’s now a true thinking golfer’s hole.
Lay up short, try to shape it around, or take your chances down the left in the rough… but find those steep bunkers and you’ll know all about it.
Add in the new work around the right side of the green, a downhill approach, and some of the best views on the course the English Channel in the background, and Hole 12 is now one of the standout thinkers holes at East Brighton Golf Club
aren’t trying to just simply make the course harder. In places the course has had bunkers taken away and the word here is strategy. Adding strategy to the course is the main goal and a hole where players used to get away with a lot has now become a decision!

A true risk-reward test.
For players with enough length off the tee, the green is within reach. But the recent bunker renovation has completely changed the challenge, with steeper faces and tighter protection demanding both carry distance and precision to avoid trouble.
Play safe and lay up, or take on the gamble knowing an eagle chance awaits if you pull it off… and for the very lucky few, maybe even an ace.

Hole 10 ⛳️
💡 From an idea… to lines on paper… to shaping in the ground.
Hole 10 has been completely transformed and this project has been a true team effort from start to finish at East Brighton Golf Club.
What began with a vision from General Manager and architect James Edwards , before being brought to life on the ground by the world-class shaping of Patrick Quinn — fresh from recent international recognition for his outstanding work in golf course construction and shaping.
But projects like this are never about just a few.
A huge thank you goes to the greenkeeping team , members, committee, chairman, volunteers, and everyone who picked up a shovel, moved sand, lent a hand, or supported the process throughout a long winter of hard work.
The goal was simple: create something more strategic, more visually striking, and more in keeping with the future direction of the golf course. The new bunkering and shaping completely change the feel of Hole 10 from the tee — adding depth, movement, definition, and a far stronger visual identity.
This is only one step in the continued evolution of the course, but it’s a major one.
We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved together — and we can’t wait for members and visitors to experience it this season.
🌾 Golden fescue swaying in the evening light, sea air rolling across the cliffs, and East Brighton beginning to reveal an entirely new identity this summer.
🚁 Filmed looking back from the fairway bunkers on 12 towards the 13th, this stretch of the course now has a completely different feel to it. The new bunkering and natural mounding create so much more depth across the landscape — framing the holes beautifully and giving the terrain a far more dramatic, cinematic character than before.
🎥 There’s something about the wispy coastal fescue in this light that feels straight out of Gladiator — that soft golden movement across the ground with the sea sitting quietly in the distance. It’s raw, natural, and properly atmospheric golf.
💡 Massive credit to the team at alongside the vision from and at EDI Golf. The hard work from Ciaran and team at trying to battle the tough conditions plus of course all the members and volunteers who had a massive part to play. The transformation work is really starting to come together now, and East Brighton is looking incredible because of it.
Sun’s out, temperatures rising, and the weekend is set perfectly at East Brighton Golf Club.
Finish strong on 18, take on the short par 5, and see how many eagles are out there this weekend. Then head into the 19th hole for a well-earned drink after your round.
