What a great weekend we had at Anstey last weekend!
Great weather, great racing and the last competition with the full set of teams!

We had 4 teams running over the weekend!

Bassett Jelly Babies found it a bit warm, but there were lots of positives to take away and a great team effort, with lots of cheering!

Bassett Jelly Tots had 24/24 clean runs and came 3rd!

Bassett Dynamites had a good day racing, coming away with 2nd!

Bassett Allsorts came together for some great clean racing coming away with a 1st.

A couple of weeks ago we went off to the BFA Champs. We had some good racing, a few mishaps, but great fun!
B Allsorts 5th Div 32 Best tme 21.66
B Dynamite B/O Div 10 Best time 17.37
B Jelly Tots (foundation) got a score of 98% clean runs, giving them 3rd palce
This year's fancy dress was Country & Western.......

A week after we finished racing at the fabulous 2026 BFA Championships, we are reflecting on the great fun we had and some great racing from our teams!

Our foundation team the Jelly Tots did really well, with lots of great help from the team. They came 3rd with 96%, and 2 very green dogs in the mix, with only 2 legs not completed.

Next were the Allsorts, who had some great speed trials and started racing well, but then got a bit warm and wasn’t quite as smooth in the afternoon, coming in 4th in there division.

Lastly we have the Torpedoes, who weren’t quite on form for speed trials but then pulled it together for some brilliant racing, resulting in them breaking out twice in there first race!

Everyone did some fantastic racing, the teams really pulled together and we had a great weekend!

Well done to Dizzy & Womble at their first Champs, and to Remus, Dobby & Ozzie for their first Open at Champs!

We've corralled the horses, collected the cowboys and gals, and are set to be riding to the hoedown later this evening!

Our final team going to the champs this week is our foundation team the Jelly Tots!! Newly formed this season, they are super excited to get in the ring!!

Our next team competing at champs is the Allsorts, and we certainly are! Mix of breeds, ages and experience!! But we have great fun!! It’s also Dobby’s first season of open racing!

We are super excited for champs this week! Our first team is the Torpedoes!! Our mostly collie team with the beast that is Dylan, a New Zealand Huntaway, kicking off their racing, and it’s Ozzy’s first season of open racing! We can’t wait to see everyone and the fun begin!!

📣 Lost Dog Tip: Make a Scent Article for Your Dog! 🐾

Fresh off my Level 1 Lost Dog Tracking course, I wanted to share one of the most valuable things you can do before your dog ever goes missing.

🧠 Make a scent article!
Especially important if you have a multi-dog household, this ensures search teams have a clear, unique scent to track.

Here’s how you do it:

🛠️ You’ll need:
✅ 1 ziplock bag
✅ A pair of gloves (if possible – prevents contamination)
✅ One item for your dog’s scent (a new sock, clean medical gauze, or even a cheap fabric collar)

👃 How to prepare it:

1. Rub the item all over your dog, or have them wear it briefly.

2. Put it straight into the ziplock bag.

3. Label the bag with your dog’s name and microchip number.

4. Store in a cool, dark cupboard.

5. Set a reminder to re-scent it every 3–6 months!

💡 One small step now can make a huge difference later. Be proactive. Be prepared. 🐶💛
