Do you encounter people that are angry or aggressive?
Sometimes these emotions and behaviours can be useful e.g. anger to help you get over the threshold and quit a habit that no longer serves you, and aggression to achieve success in a sorting activity.
When these aren't useful are when the situation can turn confrontational and violent. This is when people get hurt or property damaged.
Last week's podcast & this week's upcoming one. Ali Baird and Richard Hilton are talking about anger, giving you solutions to resolve it and gain a "Win-Win" for all parties concerned.

How can self-defence training help your business, organisation etc?
You have an obligation in the law more specifically towards HSE and protecting your company from prosecution especially if you have vulnerable workers/lone working etc.
As an employer, you have a duty of care to your employees. Good information, Instruction, Training and Supervision.
Have a read of the article below or you can read it via the link below.

Why is it important to train your staff?
As the testimonial states mental health, empowering the workforce, and team building (they have an amazing team already).
What isn't stated is compliance with the HASAW 1974 and reducing the risk of your staff from coming to harm.
This especially applies to lone working and workers that are in vulnerable positions such as care homes, shops, and traffic wardens the list is endless.
You as an employer and the employees have a duty of care to you the employer and other employees.
Part of that duty of care toward your staff and that means good quality training.
The HSE states that:
General duties of employers to their employees.
(1)It shall be the duty of every employer to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all his employees.
(2)Without prejudice to the generality of an employer’s duty under the preceding subsection, the matters to which that duty extends include in particular—
(c)the provision of such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of his employees;
You can help them by being aware of the dangers that could be present in the workplace.

I had the pleasure of going up to Zen Communications and helping their team out with learning some basic self-defence skills and what the law says about Self-defence.
All the participants enjoy the day and they got involved.
Thank you again to the team at Zen Communications for making it an excellent day.
What does the training do for them?
1) Health and Safety Compliance
2) Duty of Care towards the Staff
3) Empowering the employees that they are more capable than they may have previously been taught
4) Team building activity that is different from normal team building days.
As an adult, you are physically stronger and more capable than a child, however without the right knowledge and training that doesn't stop a child or children from doing serious harm to you. I can instruct you in what the law says about self-defence and teach you easy-to-learn and retainable skills that will last you a lifetime.
