📢 Important Opening Hours Update – August

Unfortunately, Lawrence Weston Bike Hub will be closed on Mondays throughout August, and we will also be closed on Saturday 10th August.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Following the recent robbery, the Hub needs a little time to recover. Our mechanic is also taking a well-earned holiday, so we're taking this opportunity to regroup and get everything back on track.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon and continuing to provide affordable bikes, repairs, and support to our community. 💙🚲

We have video evidence of the thieves. If you recognise anyone on the footage, please send PM. The Police has also received the recordings.

Unfortunately, Lawrence Weston Bike Hub was broken into. The door was left open, and several bikes and parts were taken by children.

If you or your child has taken a bike or any parts, please return them to the Bike Hub. They belong to the community and are used to provide affordable bikes, repairs and cycling projects for local residents.

The police have been informed and are investigating the incident.

No questions will be asked if the items are returned during our opening hours:
Monday: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

🚲 A fantastic start to our Big Bike Revival programme! 🚲

We've now completed our first two events, and what a great start they've been!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Free Dr Bike Sessions at Avonmouth Community Centre and Portishead Community Centre. It was brilliant to see so many people bringing their bikes in for safety checks, adjustments and repairs, and even better to hear how much more confident they feel about getting back on two wheels.

These events are all about helping people cycle more by making sure their bikes are safe, roadworthy and enjoyable to ride. Every bike repaired is another person encouraged to choose cycling for work, school, shopping or simply for fun.

A big thank you as well to our venue partners for hosting us and helping spread the word in their communities.
The Big Bike Revival continues throughout July with Learn to Fix workshops, Learn to Ride sessions and guided community rides, so there's still plenty of opportunities to get involved.

All events are FREE, funded by Cycling UK's Big Bike Revival and delivered by Severn Ride & Stride / SevernNet.

Have you always wanted to learn to ride a bike, or are you looking to build your confidence in a safe, supportive environment?

Join us for a FREE Learn to Ride session at the Lawrence Weston Bike Hub BMX Track and take your first steps towards enjoying the freedom of cycling!

Our experienced instructors will help you:
✅ Learn to balance and ride
✅ Build confidence at your own pace
✅ Practise starting, stopping and steering
✅ Have fun in a friendly, encouraging environment

🚲 Bikes and helmets are provided, so you don't need any equipment to take part. If you have your own bike and helmet, you're very welcome to bring them along.

🎁 Everyone who takes part gets to spin our Prize Wheel!

Every participant wins a cycling accessory to help them continue their cycling journey. Prizes include:

🚲 Exciting news! 🚲

Severn Ride & Stride / SevernNet has been awarded funding from Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival programme to deliver 12 free bike events across our local communities this July.

We’ll be running events in:
📍 Lawrence Weston
📍 Shirehampton
📍 Avonmouth
📍 Portishead
📍 Severn Beach
📍 Pill

The programme will include a mix of:
🔧 Fix sessions (free bike checks and minor repairs)
🛠️ Learn to Fix workshops
🚴 Ride activities to help people build confidence cycling

We’re really looking forward to getting started and helping more people get their bikes back on the road.
