A huge thank you to Jamie and everyone at Shield Scaffolding for sponsoring our Southmead FC Presentation Weekend.

The stage they provided wasn’t just somewhere to hand out trophies - it became the centrepiece of the weekend. Having a professional, high-quality stage made such a difference, giving all of our players, coach and volunteers their moment in the spotlight and helping create an occasion our community can be proud of.

Community football is about so much more than what happens on the pitch. It’s about creating memories, celebrating achievements and bringing people together, and support from local businesses like Shield makes that possible.

And while football might not have come home this summer… 🏆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿… it certainly came to Southmead! We had an incredible weekend celebrating our players, families and volunteers, with smiles, trophies and champions everywhere you looked.

Thank you again to everyone at Shield Services Group for your continued support of our club and our community. We couldn’t do it without partners like you.

As our fantastic U10 Girls move up to U11 football, we’re looking to add the final pieces to an already brilliant squad.

Our main priority is recruiting a dedicated goalkeeper who is ready to become a key part of a supportive, ambitious team. Whether you’re an experienced keeper or have played the position before and want to develop further, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re also on the lookout for a handful of experienced outfield players to strengthen the squad as we prepare for the new season.

If your daughter is ready for a new challenge and wants to be part of something special, get in touch today to arrange a training session.

🏆 PRESENTATION WEEKEND IS FINALLY HERE! 🏆

After a long season of hard work, commitment, ups, downs and countless unforgettable moments, it’s finally time for the whole Southmead FC family to come together and celebrate everything we’ve achieved.

This weekend is about far more than collecting trophies. It’s about recognising every player, coach, volunteer, parent, sponsor and supporter who has played their part in another fantastic season for our club.

Across the last year we’ve celebrated league titles, promotions, cup success, player development, memorable performances and, most importantly, continued to strengthen the culture that makes Southmead FC such a special club. From our youngest Mini Ballers taking their first steps into football, right through to our adult teams competing week in, week out, every single team has contributed to another brilliant chapter in our club’s story.

A huge thank you goes to Shield Services Group for once again sponsoring this year’s Presentation Weekend.

Let’s come together to celebrate another memorable season and everything that makes Southmead FC so special.

💚🤍 One Club. Stronger Together. 💚🤍

With tournament season in full swing our U13’s had back to back tournaments this Saturday and Sunday.

Stoke Lane Tournament

A strong tournament performance that ended in disappointment in the semi-finals against Longwell Green, who went on to win the tournament. The team did everything possible to win the game and were the only side that looked likely to score, but couldn’t find the breakthrough. After a goalless draw, luck wasn’t on our side in the penalty shootout. Across the tournament, the squad showed great consistency, recording 2 wins, 2 draws and just 1 loss, scoring 8 goals and conceding only 2. Reaching the semi-finals and pushing the eventual champions all the way was a reflection of the quality and determination shown throughout the day.

Player of the tournament went to Isla. An absolute rock in central defence the whole tournament which we’ve become a custom to since she’s been part of the team. She was also the first person to put her hand up and take a penalty which shows huge courage a character.

Brislington Tournament

Another positive tournament showing, with our only defeat once again coming against the eventual tournament winners. The team played some excellent football throughout and proved extremely difficult to beat, but too many drawn matches ultimately cost us progression from the group stage, finishing third. Despite not advancing, the squad competed brilliantly throughout the day, ending with 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss, scoring 4 goals and conceding only 2. To suffer just one defeat all tournament - and that coming against the eventual champions - demonstrates how competitive and resilient the team were from start to finish.

Player of the tournament simply couldn’t be split so had to go to two players.

Bella - outstanding battling performance again as she very often shows. The opposition found her near impossible to get past all day and she travelled with the ball from back to front so often to try and create chances. She was finally rewarded in the last game for her efforts with a goal to top off some great performances.

Flo - played as part of the back 2 all day and was phenomenal. Every time she got on the ball she looked to pass forward and stayed very composed. Another who’s efforts were finally rewarded in the final group game with a goal which was a neatly tucked finish into the bottom corner.

Some great performances for all the girls across the weekend and were hugely proud of all that took part.
