As many of you know, I've put a hold on my business the last 6 months so I can be there for my little man as he had to undergo a major head surgery.
Whilst the fight isn't over, it's not stopping him from wanting to push himself to gain some fitness as he hopes to get back into playing football at some point once everything is sorted.
Today, with the company of his cousin Isaac, we managed to do some light conditioning work in the gym and some football drills headed by that you can view on his coaching page. An amazing new setup looking at specialised 1-to-1 coaching for the youth who want to improve and brush up on their football technique.

SMART goals stand for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. It is a popular framework used to set effective and well-defined goals, and it's a great way to approach your fitness goals.
Over the next few weeks we will explore what each element covers and how it can be applied to exercise.
Achievable!
While it's essential to challenge yourself, setting achievable fitness goals is crucial to prevent burnout or injury. If you're a beginner, attempting an advanced exercise routine might be unrealistic and discouraging. Instead, start with manageable goals that align with your current fitness level and gradually increase the difficulty as you progress.

MEASUREABLE!
Fitness goals must be measurable to track progress effectively.
Measuring aspects like weight, body measurements, strength gains, or the number of repetitions performed allows you to see how far you've come and make adjustments if needed. For instance, if your goal is to increase your bench press strength, you can measure the maximum weight you can lift for a certain number of reps.

SPECIFIC!
A goal should be clear, well-defined, and specific in terms of what needs to be accomplished. Avoid vague language and ensure that the goal answers the questions of who, what, where, when, and why. Being specific helps focus efforts and provides a clear direction for action.
In the context of fitness, a specific goal would be one that precisely outlines what you want to achieve. For example, instead of a vague goal like "get fit," a specific goal could be "lose 10 pounds of body weight" or "run a 5K race in under 30 minutes." Being specific helps you target the exact area you want to improve and provides a clear roadmap for your fitness journey.
