I’ve been nervous for such a long time about hill walking due to various knee issues but, after a focussed strength training plan, I had a joyous time striding up & down steep slopes, jumping over streams and traversing boggy ground. My reward at the end was ‘bloody’ amazing. If anyone else has any ambitions to enjoy autumn and winter outside but is a bit nervous then get in touch. It’s worth it.

The ferry drops us off much further down the coast as the tide is really low this time of year. The only thing to do is to carry the bike up to the cliff path. Thank goodness I can lift heavy weights properly. Functional Fitness at its best.

I get coached too. And after a holiday it was particularly tough. Glad it’s over. Delighted to have done it though. Now for coffee. Thank you Strength Lab

I’m not a walker - I have one replacement knee and one with osteoarthritis. I tend not to count steps as I usually get around by bike. But this week I did & I averaged over 15k a day. Some of that was with luggage, some of that was up & down LOTS of steps and some of that was walking around streets. At no time did I need to take any painkillers. Strength Training WORKS.

I love the new academic year more than the calendar New Year. I love new stationery, new goals & new timetables.
If you’ve got through summer and fancy a new term that includes strength training then contact me.
If you want to come with friends we can have a small class with everyone having their own plans & encouraging each other.
If you want to come on your own then personal tuition it is. Everyone is welcome.
Just don’t eat your packed lunch before you arrive.

Only way is up. The Germans do like their stairs and these are particularly steep & long. Oh well. Good job I’ve got strong legs. And lungs.

We’ve been doing a press challenge in July at Strength Lab which is perfect timing as I’m off on my travels. I will be travelling by bus, coach, tube, car, tram & trains galore. So the single & double military press & double push presses will come into their own. If you want to see how strength training can be beneficial for your next holiday get in touch. I promise you your back will thank you.

I’ve been in France for 2 weeks travelling around. Thanks to strength & mobility training I’ve enjoyed every minute - the LIFTING the bike on & off the cycle rack, the CARRYING heavy loads onto and off the van, the TWISTING to take things in and out of tight squeezes, the SQUATTING to get things out low storage spaces. And then of course ENDURANCE to walk & cycle miles. If anyone wants to see how their strength training could improve their enjoyment of active holidays get in touch!
