WELSH LANGUAGE FILM SCREENING @ WATERSHED 🎞 🍿 25/11/19
The UK Jewish Film festival’s 20th anniversary screening of the Welsh-Yiddish-langauge classic Solomon a Gaenor. The film, which stars Nia Roberts, Ioan Gruffudd and Maureen Lipman, is set in the Welsh Valleys in the early 20th Century against the backdrop of anti-semitic riots. It’s a heartbreaking Romeo and Juliet story about a young Jewish lad falling in love with a local girl.
The screening will be followed by a Q and A with the film’s writer/directior, Paul Morrison.
