Official page of the University of Bristol Basketball Club We have 5 competitive teams which consist of 3 mens and 2 womens.
The University of Bristol Spartans Basketball Club is a professional Bristol SU society that welcomes any student who wants to play basketball at university. We strive to create a diverse and inclusive club that excels at both performance and participation level, and most importantly, enhances your student experience at university. We have an elected committee who work hard to ensure that the club
is meeting the needs of all of its members and attracting potential members: a Club Captain, 2 Vice Club Captains, a Treasurer, Team Captains, 2 Social Media Officers, an Outreach Officer, 3 Social Secretaries and 2 Wellbeing Officers. Our competitive teams train several times a week on court alongside fitness and strength and conditioning sessions. Competitive players are also encouraged to do their own fitness sessions. There are many opportunities for students not in the competitive teams. We run a relaxed and friendly Participation 2 Performance (P2P) programme for beginners. Many of these players progress into competitive teams at midseason trials held in December. Secondly, we run a popular intramural league, open to any course, halls, society or group of friends that want to form a team. Lastly, there are opportunities for students to be involved and paid for non-playing participation roles including coaching, table officiating and referees.
