✈️ Cockpit Command: 360° Flight Experience is here at Aerospace Bristol all week (25–31 May) and we made it specifically for this incredible museum.
You can step inside the dome and fly alongside fighter jets, experience G-forces, relive a Battle of Britain dogfight, and journey from the earliest space missions to Artemis 2 and the new era of human spaceflight.
Live storytelling, real cockpit footage, wraparound 360° visuals.
As one visitor said:
⭐ "I took my 7-year-old son to the Cockpit Command and Family Planetarium Show. Both were engaging, immersive, and memorable. The G-force centrifuge was thrilling, and the dome imagery felt surreal. My son loved it. A fun, educational experience I’d highly recommend for families or anyone interested in aviation and space. ⭐

⭐ "We loved this. We thought it was such a magical experience. The host was fantastic - very knowledgeable, dealt with the kids questions very well, and had a calming voice. The music was beautiful and the visuals were absolutely stunning (better than the main Bristol planetarium and Greenwich planetarium) - which was unexpected for a 'temporary' dome. Me and my 6-year-old daughter will be visiting again soon!" - Daniel Asby

✨ CASUAL PLANETARIUM ASSISTANT ✨
We're looking for a planetarium assistant to work with us at Aerospace Bristol this December.
When delivering shows to public audiences, Mario requires an assistant outside the dome. Our two regular assistants are unable to cover all 10 days this December, and so we're in search of a Casual Planetarium Assistant (£10 / hour).
This is a great opportunity for a young person (age 18+) who enjoys working with people, and looking to gain experience developing their customer service skills at a busy visitor attraction.
There will be additional future opportunities to assist in this way, as our local public planetarium events are becoming more popular.
If you feel you can carry out the duties below, please email us ([email protected]) a short description of yourself, and why you think you'd make a great planetarium assistant.
If selected, we'll arrange for Mario and a colleague to briefly meet with you somewhere convenient, to get to know one another better before making a final decision.
Planetarium Assistant duties:
⦿ welcome planetarium visitors and check people in
⦿ direct visitors to seating, request they remove shoes, and share instructions re no food or drink in the dome, etc
⦿ assist any visitors leaving the planetarium early (eg. due to crying children)
⦿ supervise visitors' belongings outside the dome during performances
⦿ describe the planetarium shows to passers-by and sell tickets with a credit card machine
⦿ keep an eye on ticket sales / cancellations via the Yuup dashboard on a laptop.
Venue: Aerospace Bristol, Hayes Way, Patchway, Bristol, BS34 5BZ.
Planetarium operating hours: 10:00-16:30 (with 30min lunch break)
Pay: £10.00 / hour x 6 = £60 / day
Currently available dates: 6, 7, 9-11, 13, 14 and 16-18 December
Dress: smart casual (with name badge provided)
Although Mario is DBS checked, there's no need for the Casual Planetarium Assistant to have a DBS Certificate when working with the public.
Please feel free to email us ([email protected]) with any questions.
