Do you think strength training means barbells and a gym full of blokes? Think again.
At Women's Strength in Henleaze, we use kettlebells, resistance bands, and we'll push you harder than you expect, all in a safe space built around you.
No adapting to equipment designed for someone else. No being overlooked or talked down to. Just real, effective training that builds strength you'll feel in everything you do.
Whether you're brand new to this or you've been put off before, we'd love to hear from you.

Here's something we see all the time.
A woman in her 60s or 70s — strong, motivated, ready to push herself — walking into a class that wasn't built for her. The weights are wrong. The pace is wrong. The assumptions are wrong.
She either gets patronised or she gets ignored.
We built Women's Strength because that's not good enough. And this August, we're adding something new — designed from the ground up for women who are serious about getting stronger.
More details very soon.

Strength training: officially one of the best things you can do for your body! New research out this week found that 90 minutes to two hours of weight training per week cuts your risk of heart disease, stroke, and even dementia — significantly.
Just showing up regularly and lifting something heavy, even 45 minutes will have a powerful impact.
The women in our classes are already doing this. And they're doing it in an enjoyable environment, getting stronger, and feeling more in control of their bodies.

Does two hours of strength training a week reduce the risk of dying early? Regular weight training can help you keep fit and strengthen muscles to live longer, research suggests.

What strength means after 60
People talk about strength like it's about what you can lift.
It's not.
It's about walking into a room without bracing yourself. Getting up off the floor without thinking. Carrying what you need to carry. Moving through the world feeling like your body is on your side.
That's what we build at Women's Strength.
Not a number.
A feeling.

Something new is coming to Women's Strength this August.
We think you're going to love it. 👀
After years of working with women in their 50's, 60s and 70s, here's what we wish more people understood:
You are not too old to get stronger. You have not missed your window. Your body is not done with you.
What changes as we age is not our potential — it's the quality of coaching we need. More attention. More personalisation. Less assumption.
That's the only difference. And it's exactly what our instructors provide.

What if getting stronger didn’t mean gyms, mirrors, or feeling out of place?
- What if it looked like this — friendly faces, expert coaching, and movements that make everyday life feel easier?
- Our Women’s Strength classes are designed for real women with real bodies and real lives. No pressure, no posing.
- Just strength that supports walking, lifting, balance, and confidence.
You can see what we do, and how surprisingly ‘doable’ it is.
- If it looks like something you could enjoy, come and try a class.
Just bring a mat.

You swim
You keep active.
But you know you should be doing something with weights.
The problem?
Every class you've looked at is either insultingly gentle or packed with people at a completely different life stage to you.
That's exactly why we built this.
