For me, training is my therapy, and benefits my mind as much as my body. It’s a non negotiable part of my life.
I entered another Weighted Pull up and Dip competition before my life was turned upside down 6 weeks ago. Whilst I didn’t feel as strong or prepared as last time, I am so proud I competed yesterday.
I managed 25kg pull and 27.5kg dip, narrowly missing out on 26.25kg pull and 32.5kg dip.
It’s impossible to train perfectly all the time, life happens. But consistency is key, showing up and taking part, you don’t have to wait until you feel ready or you’ll be waiting forever!!
Huge thank you to Olivia and everyone at Strength Redefined for a brilliantly organised, friendly and inclusive competition.
And thanks to Szymon Madejski for all his encouragement and competing alongside me this time.

Looks like dessert but it’s actually a delicious high protein breakfast.
Chocolate protein porridge with 0% fat Greek yoghurt, sprinkle of homemade granola for crunch and some strawberries. Under 400 calories, lots of fibre and importantly about 45g of protein 💪🏻

My infamous Wednesday Pilates class totally surprised me last night by revealing their new t shirts 🤣😍 (and gifting me my very own one to wear with pride!)
Not sure it’s a testimonial but the words on it are the exact words spoken by either me or one of the class members each week 🤣
That said, they come back every term without fail so they must enjoy it just a little?!
Plus they totally smashed the Macarena plank challenge (see highlights!) and they look incredible in their side bends 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Yesterday I took part in my first ever Pull Up and Dip competition - which was brilliantly organised by
I was absolutely terrified 😂 but very proud of myself for giving it a go. I managed a PB on my weighted pull up (26.25kg) and despite my 35kg dip not being allowed (I didn’t go down far enough) I was still really pleased I tried it.
I managed 13 max strict bodyweight pull ups (12 were counted) and 17 bodyweight dips.
A great experience and lots to learn from it!
Massive thanks to my amazing coach for his endless support and encouragement, Emily for being a great training partner and Adam physio for helping sort out my dodgy shoulder so I could take part.
