Meet Dave who is currently completing the renewal of his Dozer ticket here at the traning centre. At a sprightly 85 (next month) Dave always completes his tickets with us and we're pretty confident he'll be back in 5 years to re-renew this one. What an inspiration he is!
Anyone else out there who's still operating plant at this great age?

"Just completed my CPCS A56B ADT course at Kelston Sparkes and I can honestly say it was one of the best weeks of my life. The training machine is a Volvo A20 - in absolutely top notch condition considering the millions of tonnes it has carried over its lifetime and still standing tall and young. A real workhorse and a brilliant machine to learn on. There was one moment during the pre-start checks where I had to pull down the bonnet - and let's just say that bonnet is significantly heavier than me. Every single time I had to open it, I'd hang off it with everything I had and it wouldn't budge. Sam and the team found this absolutely hilarious - and so did I. Sam Jones - my trainer - is an exceptional trainer. Patient, knowledgeable, encouraging and genuinely passionate about the industry. His teaching made everything click naturally. I scored 89/89 in my theory test and near-perfect in my practical - which I entirely credit to Sam's brilliant instruction. But the real hidden gem of this place is the canteen. Sitting around those two round tables, you are in the presence of what I can only describe as a plant operating library disguised as a canteen. The cumulative experience sitting at those tables must be well over 120 years. Mark, Martyn, Roger, Sam, Pauline and Ellie- every conversation, every story, every piece of advice shared over a cup of tea was genuinely priceless. The kind of wisdom you simply cannot get from any textbook or YouTube video. And then there's Pauline. She said something simple one day - "there's no I in the team" cliche perhaps, but watching her this week I understood exactly what she meant. Making everyone feel welcome, and holding the whole place together with warmth and grace. She is the one I mailed my queries first, then dozens of emails followed yeah, and she cleared all my doubts and gave me this perfect 4 day window for my training! If you're serious about plant operation - come here. You won't just leave with a Red card. You'll be leaving with much more than that. Five stars without hesitation."

We have just 2 spaces left on the NPORS Plant & Vehicle Marshall Course on the 10th July. If you would like to book a space please contact [email protected].

We have 5 spaces left on our 1 Day Safety Awareness course running on the 1st July at our training centre in Bristol and we can also do the Health, Safety and Environment Test while you are here! You need both these for your CSCS Labourers Card.

The good news is that it's a mild 24 degrees next week.... 😁🥵

Please meet two of our recent additions to the team:

👷Mark Carter, CPCS Assessor, joined us in 2025 after a 30 year career as a plant operator. He is brilliant at sharing his skills and knowledge on site with delegates.
👷Martyn Down ,CPCS/ NPORS Assessor, ITSSAR Instructor and NVQ Assessor, joined us earlier this year with over 5 years experience delivering Plant Training and 15 years as a mobile plant operator.

Both have hit the ground running and have already become highly valued members of the training team.
