Me this eve, hurrying to Zumba & LyricalFlow to escape life 💕

WHO REMEMBERS THIS SONG??
If you do, you are/were probably a Zumba instructor, and you were probably given this in your B1 as the exercise to teach you how to use the music (“formula”! 🧪) circa 2009-2010 (no idea when they stopped using it!).

Came across this today when packing boxes to move house 📦, feeling very emotional, a huge change and a huge releasing of something precious to me as I say goodbye to my little flat in , but then I went to teach my classes this evening… and the joy of doing so made me really realise I can give up material things, even homes… but I’m not sure I could ever give up this job?? 💔

Really makes me feel for my mum’s generation of Zumba instructors, who trained when I did and were very much friends of mine, going through the decision to retire as a Zumba instructor. I feel like I get it, whilst still knowing that I really don’t. I remember them all discovering teaching Zumba in their 40s and it bringing them a new lease of life, of confidence, of self expression that transferred into the rest of their lives, and I am SO UNBELIEVABLY GRATEFUL that I got to experience the same, but at 17, when I found . What an insane privilige, that influenced everything about my adult life. ✨

So yeh. Tomorrow is going to be hard, but I’m moving to Knowle not outer space, and I get to keep my new classes with the latest group of special participants I’ve found (as lovely as any who I’ve had the pleasure to teach before them 🥰).
