MARK LEIGH FUNDRAISER UPDATE

Thanks to everyone who has supported, helped, bought a raffle ticket / auction prize and contributed to the fundraising over the recent weeks.

We’ve raised a massive £9239!!

This along with any other additional funds we raise will be provided to Marks family ASAP.

Once again, thanks to all of the football clubs, businesses, friends, family and those who didn’t know mark but also contributed - what an amazing thing to have done!!

Unfortunately due to weather the Mark Leigh’s fundraiser football match at Brislington has been called off. The raffle and auction will still take place at the 3 lions from 4pm Today.

We have to his moment raised an AMAZING £6,295!!

It’s overwhelming the support and generosity from those that knew Mark as well as from the local and football community.

We’ve had some massive contributions from some individuals and local businesses and football clubs - THANK YOU.

FUNDRAISER DAY: 19th Feb, Charity Football Match at Ironmould Lane (Bridlington Ground) KO 12pm with ex Talbot Knowle players followed by an auction and raffle at the 3 Lions, Bedminster.

FUNERAL DETAILS: 17th Feb, 3pm South Bristol Crematorium. Followed by Bowling Club, South Liberty Lane.

In what has been just over 24 hours we’ve already been able to raise £2,250!

We want to keep going, give Mark the send off he deserves and support his family during this time.

As some of you will already know, we sadly lost Mark Leigh last week. Although Talbot Knowle hasn't been around for a few years now we wanted to share details of a fundraiser in aid of his family.

Fundraising Football Match - details TBC
When: 19th February - Midday Kick Off
Where: Brislington FC, Ironmould Lane

Auction and Drinks
When: 19th February (after the Match)
Where: 3 Lions Pub
Details: There will be items such as Signed Messi boots, Signed Al Pacino Scarface Picture, Signed 1966 framed photo signed by most players as well as a signed Bristol City shirt.

!! BREAKING NEWS !!

It is with deep sadness to communicate that Talbot Knowle Utd AFC will not be participating in the 2018/19 season and have been taken the decision to disband the club.

Mark Dite took the decision this summer with great sadness claiming that one of the main contributing factors was the lack of commitment from players. Mark had worked tirelessly for a number of years each week ensuring the club had a side to put out on the Saturday take a up a huge amount of time and effort and commitment.

It was evident from last season and pre-season that players are no longer as committed as they once were several years ago. Often having players call to say they couldn’t play on the morning of a game, not respond or even walk off of the pitch during a game.

The club had run for several years with the most recent achievement of achieving back to back to back promotions to the Bristol Premier Combination League as well as winning the GFA cup coming Runners up in the Fry's Tournament.

Mark would like to thank all of the players that supported him and contributed to the clubs success over the years and to those that also that collectively suffered defeats in the freezing January rain and those that celebrated promotions and cup wins!

Mark will now be taking some time away from football before deciding what he wants to do in the future.
