When things feel like too much, I used to push through like it was a personality trait.

Head down. Keep going. Don't stop long enough to feel it.

Sound familiar?

There are a few ways we tend to respond when we're overwhelmed — and none of them are wrong, they're just patterns. Usually ones we learned when we had no other option.

Lately I've been sitting with this question:
→ What do you tend to do when you're overwhelmed — push through, shut down, overthink, or over-function?

(Honestly, I cycle through all four depending on the week.)

Hands on your chest. Breathing. Listening to what your body is trying to tell you.

It sounds simple. And it is. But connecting isn’t always easy. Yet this contact is where freedom begins.

Most people think presence is about clearing your mind or forcing yourself to calm down. It's not.

Your body already has its own way of finding its way back. The problem is we don't slow down long enough to let it work.
