Important announcement:
To all our runners and supporters, we regret to inform you that the current committee has taken the decision to step down. This means 2 things

1 - this years 10k will not take place in April

2 - any future running of the event is dependent on us finding a new organising team

If you’d be interested in taking on the future organisation of this great event please reply below or via DM and one of the committee will be in touch. We will offer full support and handover to a new team if one can be found

Pensford 10k committee

We could use your help spreading the word about our race! Short version: we’ve had some unexpected costs and need to sign up more runners. Could you share the word? This is the link:

The longer version is that our race straddles ground managed by different agencies. We pay for permits for each. Part of that land is with the wonderful Forestry England. Unfortunately they failed to let us know about a per-runner 10% fee they’re levying for use of their land. For a small race like ours, that’s a significant cost that we hadn’t been informed we needed to budget for.

If we fill all the places in the race then the extra cost is no problem. If we don’t, then we’ll dip into reserves and manage, but it probably means that this race isn’t financially viable in the future.

So, if you’re part of a community of runners we’d love if you could share the race with them and encourage them to take a look. If you’ve run in the past, let them know how much you enjoyed it. If it’s your first time, encourage them to join you!
