⚽️ U15s Match Report ⚽️

Our U15s took on a stubborn Shirehampton side this week in a game where we had to be patient and keep working.

We were knocking on the door for the majority of the first half, but Shirehampton had 10 players behind the ball, making it tough to find the breakthrough we needed.

That was until Jake carved the midfield open with his vision, understanding of the game and ability to read situations. A fantastic performance from Jake, who deservedly took home our Player of the Match award. 👏🏆

Once we got that first goal, the boys didn’t stop coming!

⚽️ 1-0 — Chino, assisted by Jake
⚽️ 2-0 — Zion, assisted by Tommy
⚽️ 3-0 — Jake, from a Max corner
⚽️ 4-0 — Zion, with Jake providing the assist
⚽️ 5-0 — Henley, assisted by Zion

Shirehampton managed to grab a goal near the end after we switched off, but overall it was a great team performance from everyone. 💪👏

Lots of positives to take from the game, with everyone playing their part and continuing to work hard for each other.

Well done boys!⚽️

⚽️ Mead 1–9 Ashley Down

After a great start to the game against the league leaders, we eventually came up against a very big and physical team and ended up on the wrong side of the result.

As always, the boys never gave up and continued to play some really good football right until the final whistle. There were some fantastic individual performances, with Pixie, Oscar and Braydon all putting in excellent displays. 👏

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – BRAYDON

It could easily have gone to any of the three, but Braydon was outstanding today and put in a midfield masterclass. Some brilliant passing, excellent dribbling and a real desire to keep going throughout the game.

A very gifted footballer who left absolutely everything out on the pitch. ⚽️

Well deserved, Braydon! 👏🔥

Our u9s on the weekend played their final group cup game. Kicked the afternoon off with a slow start to the first half, looking a little bit flat, we decided to change formations and had a much better performance second half, playing some great football and scoring some wicked team goals👏🏻 we then kicked the second game off the lads came out firing from the blocks, working hard, some amazing football and great individual and team goals, during both games everyone young lad worked very hard and enjoyed another day of football💚

First game our player of the match was Max, this lad showed some great quality in front of goal through out of the game, very physical & strong in his 1v1 battles, some good decision making when playing forward and helped the team out with a stint in goal, making a cracking save pulling one out of the top corner, well done lad👏🏻💚

Second game our player of the match was Elon, this lad joined us in the summer and has been firing ever since then, he ran his socks off the weekend pressing all over the pitch and got rewarded with countless amounts of goals, also did his stint playing at back for the team no questions asked, well done mate👏🏻💚

Disappointing result at the weekend after cruising through the first half and going 2–0 up. The opposition never really had a chance on goal, but in my opinion, making too many changes at one time allowed them back into the game, and we eventually drew 3–3.

That said, the lads and Eley never gave up. They showed great fight, character and some really good quality football from the team. ⚽️🟢

🏆 Player of the Match – Eley

What a performance from Eley! She made some outstanding saves in the second half and, in the dying minutes, produced a class save to push the ball onto the crossbar and stop us from losing the game. 👏🧤

A massive well done to her — thoroughly deserved!

Now we move on to this week’s game full of confidence. We know what we’re capable of, and we’re showing that Southmead are on the up. Teams will definitely be starting to think about us now! 🟢⚽️

On to the next one! 💪

⚽ Another Cup Game Done!
Overall, probably not our best day on the pitch, but there were still plenty of positives for the boys to take away from both games.

Both games were a bit of a mixed bag, with some really good spells where we moved the ball well, created a couple of chances and played some good football. At other times, though, we went a little quiet, switched off and were punished for it.

Credit to Hallen, they took their chances when they came, while we need to keep working on being more clinical when our opportunities arrive.

🏆 Man of the Match – Game 1: Louie

A really solid game from this lad! 👏 He was excellent in his defensive duties and even more impressive when he stepped up and did his part in goal for us!

From “I don’t want to play in goal” to a Man of the Match performance, helping to keep the score more respectable! 💪🧤

Well done Louie — cracking game! 👏⚽

🏆 Man of the Match – Game 2: Lennox

Without this boy today, the game could have been a very different story! Week in, week out, this lad puts his body on the line for his team, never stops running and is always throwing himself into those big challenges.

A recurring theme for Lennox — another huge effort and another performance full of determination and commitment. 💪🔥

Well done Lennox! 👏⚽

The boys are still learning, growing and improving every single week, and days like today are all part of that journey. There are some things we’ll look to work on in training Tuesday night, but also plenty of good moments to build on.

Another cup game done and ticked off ✅

Now it’s back to training, working hard and getting ready to go again next Sunday when we’re back at home! 💪⚽

Well done boys! 👏
