It’s been brilliant seeing so many young players enjoying their tennis, building confidence, learning new skills and, most importantly, having lots of fun on court! 🙌

And if your children haven’t joined us yet, it’s not too late! We still have spaces available for the final two weeks of our summer camps.

Head Coach - Downend and Frenchay Tennis Club  We are looking for a head coach with the skills and enthusiasm to lead a successful coaching programme for all ages and abilities. The ideal candidate will deliver a programme in line with the club’s objectives, and have a positive impact on the wider membership.

This week saw our men’s and women’s doubles tournaments take place, with over 50 members playing across both tournaments!

Congratulations to our finalists, Juliet, Trina, Emily, Theresa, Ian, Anton, Ollie and Dan, who will be battling it out at our finals day event in September! 🏆

We’re looking forward to our Mixed Doubles competition on the 16th August. See you there!

🏆 WHAT A FINALE TO THE LEAGUE SEASON! 🏆

The final match night was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions across all of our teams, but in true club fashion, we wrapped it up with great food, better company, and a fantastic night under the lights! 🌭🌅

Here is how the final scores rolled in:

The Men’s Teams:
🟢 Men’s 1st & 2nd: Absolute dominance! Both teams cruised to flawless 10-0 victories to finish on a massive high.
🔴 Men’s 3rd: A devastating 8-2 loss in a brutal relegation battle. We win together, we lose together—we’ll be back stronger next year, boys.
🔴 Men’s 4th & 6th: Fought hard but both came away with 8-2 defeats.
🟢 Men’s 5th: Finished strong with a brilliant 8-2 win!

The Women’s Teams:
🔶 Women’s 1st: Despite a tough 8-2 loss in some incredibly close, nail-biting matches, they secured the vital points needed to STAY UP in their division! Job done! 🥳
🔴 Women’s 2nd & 3rd: A tough night at the office with both teams falling 10-0, but the effort was there until the very last point.

Win, lose, or draw, it was the perfect summer evening to close out the league. We celebrated (and commiserated) into the early hours with a mountain of hotdogs and plenty of laughs.

A massive thank you to everyone who played, supported, and helped out across the entire season. Bring on the next one! 🌭🍻🎾
