Very excited to announce out next instructor for this amazing event. DefenceFest is a one day fully immersive training experience like no other. Being held inside the dark menacing walls of the worlds oldest prison in Shepton Mallet Somerset you will spend the day training with some of the very best instructors before having the opportunity to pit your wits against the system and try to break out of the medieval dungeons in an escape room experience that is as authentic as it gets.
Our next instructor to be announced is Adam Davey. He is part of the IKF (The International Kapap Federation) one of the leading real world organisations and runs his own club in Bristol. He has been training over 20yrs focusing on functional, reality based training, with an emphasis on being effective and workable.
He will be showcasing and introducing you to some some the very powerful IKF protocols that are designed for these very outcomes.

That’s why I never let anyone get that close; he had no awareness. Will likely be the most common low-hanging comment on this one but there are three other things I want to bring to your attention, 1. The victim is holding coffee at the start of the attack and still holding it at the end. 2. The bad guy attempts to control the victim by gripping the clothing 3. A knife is deadly, but rarely does a knife create an instant stoppage. There are a lot of variables. Angle of entry, location, and blade length. And a small amount of ballistic cavitating wounding compared to something like a firearm. During our coursework, you get the opportunity to work under an initiative deficit that simulates real-world conditions like this, so you can suck less and hopefully make it home. Why set aside awareness? Anyone can get caught slipping, and there are many reasons or situations where you will not be in control of distance or even be able to assess everything around you. To pretend you will always be switched on and see it coming is the same as saying you just see red or you would just run. It is hubris that will work until it doesn’t.
