As you start to surf unbroken waves, understanding sections of the wave will help you know where to begin generating speed and making turns!

This is how you’re going to make your first turn on a wave 🔥

This type of turn is known as a “functional turn” - its used to get you back to the pocket of the wave after being ahead of it.

Best way to remember it is by the 3 Ls:
