The 1s made their new league debut at home in a lively encounter with some familiar faces from ๐Ÿ˜Š Goals, flicks, cards and injuries (speedy recovery, both!) on each side; it had it all!

Knowleโ€™s defence was put to the test from the off, and managed to keep the sheet clean until a well-executed PC saw BAC take the lead late in the first half. Re-fuelled by jelly babies, Knowle pulled level with a flick from .ily.h_ , edged ahead with a calmly put away second from and made it 3 with a PC from . Good work, gang!! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

1s did a win at , while came out on top of the Wick/Knowle double-header over at the Met. Like the 2s, the 3s played some nice hockey throughout, and while they didnโ€™t make it onto the scoreboard this week, there was lots of good stuff to build on! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘

Team 2s after their season opener against Wick! Promising start for the crew with some good passages of play against an organised oppo. Werenโ€™t quite able to convert the attack to goals, but plenty to build on next weekโ€ฆ ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

And that's a wrap for the 2021/22 season, folks!

The 1s and 3s went out on a high with a pair of 3-0 wins against Clifton Robinsons L5s and Keynsham L3s respectively. Down at Merchants a record-breaking crowd were treated to an enjoyable game as a youthful and spritely Clobbies side kept the 1s on their toes, but Knowle set out their intent early with an opener from Cp'n Zo, then Bolti tucked away a second and after the break Soph H put a peachy assist through to put Em 1-on-1 with the keeper and smash home a third.

Over at Keynsham it took until just before half-time to break the deadlock with Ro putting Knowle into the lead. In the second half they continued to play some lovely team hockey, moving the ball around and creating more goal scoring opportunities of which Mel and Emma put one away each to seal the deal.

A huge well done and thank you to everyone who's pulled on a Knowle shirt or blown up a whistle this season! In these strange and uncertain times, hockey's provided a bit of welcome normality and hopefully a lot of fun for you all too - see you for more of the same next year and some Summer League antics in the interim!

On a sunny Saturday last weekend the 2s and 3s both narrowly missed out on points against their respective oppositions, Yate L3 and Wick 3s. A jolly time was had by all though and that marked the end of the 2s' season, who survived their relegation scrap and will be back to fight again in Berkeley 2 next year. It's been a challenging season at times, but well done to everyone who's represented the 2s this season on digging deep and finding a way! Bring on 2022/23!

Hopefully the weather tomorrow wonโ€™t need so many layers!

Hockey was the winner on a mostly sunny Saturday with all three Knowle teams in action at home - great to see everyone playing and lots of supporters around too!

After getting caught napping early in the game against an organised and quick-off-the-mark Westberries side, the 1s put in a great team effort to get their act together and pull it back from 3-0 down for the tie, and were pretty unlucky not to bag a winner. Sam drilled one home to start the comeback just before half-time, debutant Freya sent a second home into the roof of the net and Michelle made a composed finish from a PC to equalise.

The 2s had an evenly matched first half against South Glos 2s, but mini KP's team talk clearly inspired the crew to step it up a gear. Rhiannon creamed one from top D into the bottom corner to take the lead, and Honey followed it up with a trademark just-off-the-ground shot to make it 2. The team kept the pressure on and South Glos out of our 23 to secure the 3pts.

In the last game of the day, the 3s met UWE Bristol Hockey for their third and final clash of the season. The whole team put in a gutsy performance against a strong outfield 11 and weren't without opportunity to sneak one or two goals back. Scoreline aside, they kept their heads up and showed some proper Knowle spirit to keep fighting to the final whistle.

This Saturday the 3s capitalised on the momentum from their 0-0 last week and claimed their first victory of the season with a 6-0 win against Keynsham L3s. Ro opened the scoring early in the match, Jess also got on the board with one, and Bryony and Emma both did a jug-avoidance job with two each! And Plumb gets a mention in dispatches for coming out of nowhere to make a goal line clearance late in the game to preserve their cleansheet too. Great play all round, Team threes!!

Earlier in the day the 1s improved on their first round meeting to hold league-leaders Firebrands L3s to a 2-0, and the 2s handled a bundle of last min squad changes to put in a gutsy performance and limit a well-organised 3rd place B&W Jaspers 2s to 2-0 in each half.

It's hockey Saturday tomorrow and all three Knowle teams are in action again as the 1s host Firebrands L3s at Merchants in the early slot, the 2s head off to Bristol and West Jaspers 2s at Mangotsfield School, and the 3s follow the 1s at Merchants vs Keynsham L3s.

There were points across the board for Knowle this weekend!!

In the 10am start at home the 2s bagged 3pts with a well-fought 2-1 win over Hanham, with Grace & Rhiannon on the scoresheet. Down the M5 the 1s came out 2-1 up from their mid-morning trip to Weston-super-Mare with a brace for Shell. And early afternoon across town at Wick the 3s kept a clean sheet to double their points tally for the season so far!
