WINE AND CHEESE AND NEW MERCH

19th Feb • 85 Hampton Lane • 8pm

Our pre-Nottingham social this week will be a wine and cheese night 🍷🧀. Hosted at our social secs own house (85 Hampton Lane, BS6 6LE), so please be respectful. Obviously those partaking in the social are expected to bring wine and cheese (it’s in the name), but any non-alcoholic or dietary-requirement alternatives will do 😁.

It’s also an opportunity to buy/pick-up any of our new merchandise. If you have any questions about that please direct them to our wonderful treasurer, Oscar Butler (he should hopefully release a message about prices and how to order merch in our WhatsApp group chat)

The social will start at 8pm, at the address above on Thursday the 19th of February.
See you there 🤙

🦵🦵🦵THREE-LEGGED PUB CRAWL
Ft. Sailing Soc
This Wednesday we join forces with Sailing Society for a three-legged pub crawl, returning to our pirate roots in true sailor fashion.
Starting at Steam at 8pm sharp, we’ll be tying legs, raising pints and proving once and for all that sailors still rule the seas… and the pubs.

👙- fresh - crew (stripes, tats, scurvy)
👔 - seniors - pirates

Come prepared for teamwork, humiliation and a lot of laughs as we show the sailors how windsurf do it properly.

Love,
Rohan

Thank you for being so patient with us this year guys but it’s finally happening!

Our first beginner trip of the year to Cheddar will be this Wednesday afternoon, meeting behind the Richmond Building at 12:30pm. This will be a ticketed trip and I’ll put tickets out soon, keep checking the chat for updates.

The trip will be aimed at complete beginners who haven’t stepped foot on a windsurf board at all, to those who can windsurf around but are not using a harness yet. All kit is provided in your ticket.

Intermediates and advanced, you’re welcome to come on Wednesday if the forecast takes your fancy, but you will need to organise cars yourselves

Tickets released on the SU site soon

It’s time for one of the most anticipated socials of the year 🫨. A must do for any UOB student. Even if you don’t remember it the morning after 🫣.

On Thursday the 29th of January UBWC will be heading to The Coronation Tap (at 7.30pm) for a little thing called 10 before 10 🍺🍻. If you haven’t heard of it before, you have to drink 10 half pints of the pub’s house cider before 10pm 🤩.

A few house rules to make sure it all runs smoothly:
1. Don’t tell the staff your doing the challenge, you’ll get kicked out
2. If you don’t want to do the challenge still come down and say hi, it’s always a good night out
3. No other drinks than the house cider count towards the challenge

Can’t wait to see all of you there. And hopefully it’s a night to remember (if you remember it) 🤞

Time to say goodbye to 2025 👋😢.

It has been great to get to see so many new people eager to get windsurfing. And great to see so many familiar faces returning.

As a club we would like to thank everyone on the committee for making everything possible. And everyone else who has helped us out this term. We’ve had some great events and some even greater nights out🕺🪩. And there’s only bigger and better things to come next teaching block (hopefully with fewer fireworks). 🙏

We hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have and can’t wait to see you again in the new year.
