This week's academy write up is here!

What a great session Monday night was! Lots of laughter, lots of quality darts thrown but most importantly, lots of fun had! It's always refreshing when I hear the students parents give feedback about how much their child is enjoying themselves when they come to our academy!

Moving on to the session itself, mentor John was busy this week so up stepped mentor Darren! Both boards started with a game of Blind Blind Killer before Darren's went onto a game of Pyramid and Jack's went onto Half-It, Small 3 and finished with a game of Bull Out! A very competitive first half on both boards which made the first half fly by!

After the break, the weekly Around the Clock Challenges took place with this week's winners being Lexxi Daand Harrison S, with a special mention for Harrisons personal best score including a Shanghai on the 11s! 👏

This week's Honorable Mention went to Fin W! Whilst things didn't go to plan for his Around the Clock Challenge, Fins attitude throughout the session was impeccable, a sort of never give up attitude. He kept his head high and even marked it with a stylist 74 checkout in the 301 matches at the end of the session, pinging the bullseye to secure it! Well done Fin!

This week's Outstanding Performer was Rory P. As you'd have seen on an earlier post this week, Rory came runner up in a local charity pairs competition last Friday and the compliments I have received about him as a player have been outstanding, saying he's a credit to himself and the academy! Not only that, Rory hit a feat that nobody else has done at the academy yet and hit a full house for the second week in a row, meaning that's now 40 consecutive segments hit on the Advanced Around The Clock Challenge! Well done Roars! 🦁

This week's academy write up is (finally) here!

With this week being the last full week of the summer holidays it was understandable that numbers were going to be low, but with the 5 willing dartists that we had, we still made a good session out of it! Games of Blind Blind Killer, Killer, Noughts and Crosses and Half It were had all before the break with our usual Around the Clock Challenges coming after!

This week's Outstanding Performer was Finley D. Fins darts were consistently brilliant throughout the session, from smashing the target based games to then hitting the first 13 numbers on the AATC challenge on his first ever attempt. Fins darts have come on leaps and bounds since he joined the academy so it was only testament to his efforts that he won this week's certificate! Well done Fin! 👏

Now time for Jack to have a needed break for two weeks! Next Monday is a bank holiday then the following Monday Jack's on his holidays! We shall look forward to seeing everyone back to the academy on September the 14th!

Now that we've all seen the eclipse 🌒 how about some darting content for your social media feeds!? 😍 This week's academy write up is now here!

To begin with, the group was split in two for some board vs board challenges, on board 1 was Blake, Charlie, Alfred and Mentor Jack, board 2 was Rory, Finley D, Lexxi & Carter! We started off easy with black and white targets only counting, then red and green, then doubles and trebles followed by a bullseye challenge. To round off we had a game of killer which was won by Alfred!

After the break was our weekly Around the Clock Challenges, this week's winners were Finley D and Blake H! Well done to you both! 👏

Now, I don't normally give two awards to a student in one night but this week was an exception for a very good reason. Blake H hasn't been with us for very long and on Monday he completed the Advanced Around The Clock Challenge without missing a single target! That takes some doing, well done Blake! 👏

This week's Outstanding Performer was one of the easiest I've ever had to give, Carter played some of the best darts that we've ever seen him play this week. So much so, during the first half, when we were aiming for green trebles only, on his second visit he went and hit two T19s. He was showing the older students how it was done! During the game of killer, he was taking lives off everyone left, right and centre, it took mentor Jack to hit 2 x T4s to take him out, knowing how big the threat was to his team! Well done Lil Chid! 👏

Despite the weather and it being the summer holidays, this week's academy saw 6 junior dartists toe the oche and what a great session it was!

Mentor Paul had Rory, Blake and Harrison for the first half, whilst Jack had Charlie and the two Fins! Pauls board did some tough games of Half It, followed by some 301 Double-In Double-Out and Jack's board played some of Target Darts games, including "La Roja"! Jack's board then finished with some friendly games of killer!

After the much needed drinks break we did our weekly Around the Clock Challenges, this week's winners were Finley W and Harrison S! Well done lads! 👏

Receiving their Darting Journey Passport for completing their second week at the academy, was Charlie G! Welcome to the academy Charlie! 😊

There wasn't an Honorable Mention award this week but there was a standout Outstanding Performer. Rory P threw some sublime darts throughout the session and was unlucky not to win the Advanced Around The Clock Challenge, it took a Shanghai on 18s from Harrison to win it despite Rory completing the board and hitting all 20 targets! Well done Rory! 👏

The summer holidays certainly didn't stop us this week, the academy was bouncing with energy and eager dartists ready to showcase their skills!

For a change we did a board vs board challenge with team captains Blake and Rory choosing their team by virtue of a game of rock, paper, scissors! The session this week was designed to introduce some of our newer members of the academy to some of our existing members, creating new friendships and developing the support for one and other within the group. We did a series of target practice games, odd/even trebles and doubles with a bullseye challenge also thrown in. To end the first half we had a giant game of killer! Team Blake eventually winning the most challenges overall!

Once we'd all had a water break and 10 minutes to catch our breath (it was rather hot!) we went onto our Around the Clock Challenges, this week's winners were Fin D and for the first time on his second ever attempt, Blake H won the Advanced Around The Clock Challenge! 👏

Receiving this week's Honorable Mention award was academy debutant, Charlie G! Charlie started quietly and a little shy but as he grew into the session, his darts improved and so did his confidence! He then hit a Shanghai when trying the Around the Clock Challenge in reverse! Well done Charlie! (Mentor Jack approves of the Chelsea top!) 👏🦁

Receiving this weeks Outstanding Performer award was the young man that needs to introduction, especially for those who came to the Damon Heta Exhibition back in December, it was Oat, the Goat! Otis threw some excellent darts throughout the session but his personal best score of 30 in the Advanced Around The Clock Challenge was what stood out most for us and was a token of how far he has come since joining the academy! Well done Otis! 👏
