๐๐ค MATCH REPORT ๐ค๐
Another week, another step forward for the Blunsdon Ladies! โฝ๏ธ๐๐ผ
We knew today was going to be another tough test against a young and energetic Chippenham Town Ladies side, but there were some really positive signs from us.
After conceding 7 goals last week, we reduced that to 4 this week โ clear progress that we need to take confidence from. We started the game strongly, but after the first goal went in, we lost our shape a little and allowed the game to get away from us.
However, the second half was a completely different story. We absorbed their attacks well and battled the pressure for large parts of the half and most importantly, kept Chippenham to 0-0. No goals conceded! ๐ช๐ผ
Our defensive line was strong, our shape was much better and there was far more communication and composure across the pitch. It was actually lovely to hear their manager comment afterwards that our defensive line had been really strong and had stopped them attacking in a way they are not used to.
There is still plenty for us to work on โ particularly being quicker to press, closing players down and maintaining our shape and composure for the full game โ but there are definitely positives to build on.
A big thank you to Chippenham Town for a great game. You are a really lovely side, and we genuinely enjoyed playing against you. We wish you all the very best for the rest of the season! ๐โฝ๏ธ
