🚨🚨Broadwindsor CC - club tour 2026 🚨🚨

Broadwindsor cc enjoyed an excellent end of season tour, on and off the field, and for the first time came away winning both games.
In a T20 at Babbacombe cc on Fri eve the home side batted first and made steady progress thru opener H.Jack, who stroked a fine 41. Ade Phillips (2-15) took early wickets before Rueben Kingston’s spin was seen for the first time in B’windsor colours, and he responded with 3-22 from 4 overs. Skipper Ryan Sweetman also gave himself a rare bowl, taking 2-15 as Babbacombe closed on 135, all out off the last ball of their innings.
In reply, Leo James was soon into his stride, blasting a quick fire 50 ( 5 fours and 3 sixes), adding 70 for the 2nd wkt with Ben Hollely (21). 3 quick wickets and a few tight overs set up a nervy finish, but Kingston (19 no) and Rob Meech (19 no) saw them home with 4 balls to spare.
On Sunday, Ipplepen cc were the hosts and asked the tourists to bat. Ade phillips (26 no) opened and played the anchor role, adding 46 for the 1st wkt with Dan Hillier (31). Leo James continued his fine form with another unbeaten 50, while further contributions from Sweetman (34), Kingston (41no) and Ollie Weatherall (17no) saw B’windsor reach 223 off their allotted 30 overs.
The home side’s skipper G. Talley looked good for his 30 but became one of Hollelys 4 victims (6-1-25-4) and Hillier had 4 maidens in his 6 overs, taking 1-15. Further wickets for Sweetman and Meech saw Ipplepen limp to 162-8 and the tourists win by 61 runs.

Broadwindsor returned to winning ways with a thumping 10 wicket win at home to Yeovil on Sunday.
Electing to bat, Yeovil made a flying start, thumping 48 off the first 8 overs before Jack Ronan made the breakthrough. The introduction of the first change bowlers swung the game as Buddika (4-20) and Ade Phillips (3-21) tore through the top and middle order. Adam Moss (2-23) chipped in as only the experienced Steve Redwood (84) could cope with the home attack. In reply the villagers openers made a cautious start before opening their shoulders, Dan Hillier struck 11 fours and 3 sixes in his 72 not out, while Rueben Kingston offered the support role, with 9 fours in his unbeaten 50.

🚨🚨Match Reports 🚨🚨

01/08/26- Broadwindsor 236-5 Three Horseshoes 139-8.
Broadwindsor enjoyed a comfortable 97 run victory over Kent tourists Three Horseshoes cc on Saturday.
Electing to bat, the villagers accelerated after a careful start, thanks to a superb 2nd wkt stand of 149 between Ali Crawford and skipper Ryan Sweetman. The captain struck a fine 84, stroking 12 boundaries while Crawford recorded his maiden ton for the club, with 10 fours and five sixes, before being retired not out on 105 to give others time at the crease.
The tourists reply was severely bogged down by opening bowlers Matt Fooks (5 overs for 12 runs) and the experienced Mickey Spiller ( 4 overs, 1-6). 2 sharp run outs ensued as they tried to up the rate, but Jack Ronan (2-22) and wickets for Ollie Weatherall, Ade Phillips and Joe Hawkins saw them fall well short. There was time at the end for Charlie Hannam, on home debut, to hone his bowling ready for the much anticipated sept tour.

02/08/26-
Broadwindsor 146-7 by Chard 142-6.
Broadwindsor continued their winning run with a thrilling 4 run victory at Chard on Sunday. Electing to bat, the villagers made steady progress, with good contributions from Ollie Weatherall (35), Dan Hillier (23) and Leo James (22). O.Scott (3-33) slowed progress and a took a late flurry from skipper Ryan Sweetman (16 no) to get them up to what they considered a par total of 146-7 off the allotted 20 overs.
Chard got off to a good start in their reply, with C.Priddle’s 38 and at 80-1 at the halfway stage they seemed to be cruising. However, 3 quick wickets from Ade Phillips turned the game as the runs dried up, and B’windsor now looked favourites. Then a further twist, as Andrew Sochon produced some big hits as he smashed 3sixes and 2 fours, leaving just 12 required from the final over….. but Toby Pattemore showed nerves of steel as the home side fell 4 runs short.
