Today was a good day. ❤️
For the first time in two weeks, I woke up without dizziness.
A few years ago I had numerous bouts of dizziness, sometimes for days, sometimes weeks. I had tests and GP appointments, but nothing was ever really concluded. Then from spring 2025, the dizzy spells stopped.
I put it down to life changing. StrongHER was taking off, I was happier, less stressed and generally felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
Earlier this summer they started to creep back in, and this latest spell has been the longest I’ve had in a long time.
But I kept going.
Coaching. Training. Working. Walking. Doing life.
Because sometimes when you’re self employed, you just keep going because people are relying on you.
This week though, I’ve come away for a few days.
No routine. No rushing. No work. No expectations.
Just walking, eating, sleeping, relaxing and actually switching off.
And today… VOILÀ. No dizziness. 🥹
Maybe it’s coincidence. Maybe it isn’t.
Maybe my body has simply gone, “Ahhhhh… you’ve finally stopped. Nervous system reset. Lovely.” 😂
And it’s made me think about September.
There can be such an expectation to suddenly bounce back after summer. Especially if you have kids and routines are starting again.
Suddenly we feel we need to be strict with our food, our training, our routines and ourselves.
But you don’t.
You enjoyed summer. You relaxed. You lived your life. You don’t need to make up for it.
Little steps back into your routine are absolutely fine.
A couple of workouts. More water. Your walks. A few more nutritious meals. An earlier night.
Little tweaks. Little wins.
You don’t need to go from 0 to 100 on 1st September.
And perhaps my body has reminded me that sometimes being strong also means knowing when to slow down.
So if September feels like a lot, take the pressure off.
Start small. Do what makes you feel good.
And if your body is asking for a little “ahhhhhhh”…
Maybe listen to it. 🥰
