☀️ Summer Solstice & International Yoga Day ☀️

I taught this morning’s first class at 5am on the green outside Breeze Wellbeing | Studio + Treatments , with the studio’s incredible community, as the sun was rising during this year’s Summer Solstice (which always coincides with International Yoga Day).

I’m now taking a moment to pause and reflect on a path that has given me so much.

Yesterday I returned from hosting an incredible week-long retreat in France (more on this to come) with my lovely friend , in the company of beautiful souls, meaningful conversations, shared practice and laughter upon laughter. My heart is full.

Breeze Wellbeing | Studio + Treatments has enriched my life with fabulous friendships and wonderful connections.

Yoga has blessed me in ways I could never have imagined when I first stepped onto a mat all those years ago. Not because it has made life easier, but because it has taught me how to meet everything more fully. To soften. To listen. To trust. To love.

Yogic teachings remind us that our true nature is already whole. That beneath the noise, striving and self-doubt, there is something steady, wise and connected within each of us. Every year feels less about becoming someone new and more about allowing myself to be fully who I am.

What I feel most deeply today is gratitude. For the teachers who guided - and continue to guide - me, the students who continue to teach me, the friendships formed through practice, and the opportunity to share something I love so dearly.

For a long time I looked outside myself for certainty. Now I trust the quiet voice within. Not from ego, but from experience. From years of showing up, falling down, beginning again, and discovering that the light we seek is already illuminated from within.

May we all trust our own brilliance a little more. May we lead with love. May we remember that what we cultivate within ourselves ripples far beyond us.

Happy International Yoga Day. Happy Summer Solstice. 🌞🤍🙏

Class planning…

We are just passing through… and while we’re here, doing our best to sprinkle kindness, care and compassion all around…

A few days in Istanbul was exactly the break we needed: the rhythm of the city, the mesmerising call to prayer echoing across the skyline, the absolutely beautiful cats everywhere, and the chaos of spice-filled streets really pulled us in.

The days felt layered: we wandered through the colours of the Grand Bazaar, sipping endless Turkish tea by the Bosphorus Strait, eating grilled corn-on-the-cob from street stalls, shuffling through crowds, and watching the light shift over the domes of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.

What I love most is how culture lives in the everyday - in the overheard conversations of tourists leaving the Basilica Cistern, in the tiles, the food, the rituals, the juxtaposition of stunning mosques, minarets and obelisks with shabby, run-down houses and buildings. It’s vibrant, a little chaotic, annoyingly overpriced, and strangely captivating.

Doing it all with my family is always what makes it best of all: sharing meals, getting immersed in creative projects (which we always love): Turkish-Delight making, lantern making, rug weaving, rushing through the cobbled streets, avoiding eye contact with waiters standing outside of restaurants trying to tempt us in, and finding quiet pockets of calm in the middle of it all.

A city ticked off our bucket-list. Thanks, Istanbul ❤️ 🇹🇷
