In a thrilling encounter at Catshill Middle School on 8th March 2025, Catshill FC U-11s faced off against Newtown Sports Juniors U-11 in a league match. The match kicked off at 11:15 am, setting the stage for an exciting clash between two competitive youth teams.

Catshill FC lined up in a 3-3-2 formation, with Ethan stationed as the goalkeeper. The defensive trio consisted of Seth on the right, Harry S in the centre, and Arthur on the left. In midfield, Charlie A operated on the right, while Charlie R played centrally, and Mason took up the left side. Up front, Archie and Luka were tasked with leading the attack as right and left forwards, respectively. This setup aimed to provide a solid defensive base while allowing for quick transitions into attack.

The substitutes for Catshill FC included Harry H and Freddie, who would later be called upon to make an impact in the match.

The game began with Newtown Sports Juniors asserting their dominance early on. Just five minutes in, they had a shot on target from inside the box. Catshill FC struggled to find their rhythm, and within four minutes, had a further shot on target.

As the first half progressed, Catshill FC began to create opportunities. Archie had a chance in the eighth minute, but his attempt went wide. However, Newtown continued to apply pressure in the 24th minute with a stunning solo effort that left the Catshill defence scrambling.

Despite the mounting pressure, Catshill FC refused to back down. Charlie A attempted to respond shortly after, but his shot sailed high over the bar. Luka also had a chance in the 27th minute, but his effort was saved by the Newtown goalkeeper. Catshill were awarded a penalty in the 28th minute but Luka well struck penalty went just wide.

The second half saw immediate changes for Catshill FC, with Harry H replacing Seth Freddie coming on for Charlie R. The substitutions aimed to inject fresh energy into the team as they sought to mount a comeback.

Mason had a chance to get Catshill on the scoresheet shortly after the restart, but his shot was saved. In the 40th minute when Freddie had a spectacular shot on target, assisted by Mason Gormley, with a left-footed screamer that ignited hope among the home supporters.

Just seven minutes later, Archie added to the excitement with a a lob from outside the box. The momentum shifted, and Catshill FC pressed, with Luka hitting the post in the 50th minute, followed by another wide attempt shortly after.

As the match approached its final moments, Harry H had a chance, but his shot was saved in the 58th minute. Newtown struck again in the 59th minute, with a further attempt on target.

Catshill FC showcased resilience and determination, particularly in the second half. Charlie A was recognised for his standout performance, earning the title of Player of the Match. The young side will look to build on their spirited display as they prepare for their next challenge.

In a thrilling league encounter at Little Perdiswell on 22nd February 2025, Catshill FC U-11s played against Warndon Villages Youth U11 Vipers. The match kicked off at 9:30 am, showcasing the young talents of both teams in a competitive 9-a-side format.

Catshill FC adopted a 3-3-2 formation, with Ethan stationed as the goalkeeper. The defensive line comprised Seb on the right, Harry H in the centre, and Seth on the left. The midfield trio featured Stanley on the right, Tommy centrally, and Logan on the left, while Archie and Luka operated as forwards on the right and left flanks, respectively. This setup aimed to provide a solid defensive foundation while allowing for dynamic attacking play through the wings.

The substitutes for Catshill FC included Arthur, Mason, Freddie, Harry S, Charlie R, and Lucas, who would later play pivotal roles in the match.

The match began with an early attempt from Logan in the fourth minute, but his effort was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. Catshill continued to press, with Archie making a slide rule pass in the 13th minute, although it did not create a clear chance. Luka then had a go at goal in the 14th minute, but his shot went wide, reflecting the early frustrations of the Catshill attack.

Ethan was called into action shortly after, making two crucial parries in the 16th and 17th minutes to keep the Vipers at bay. Harry H showcased his defensive prowess with a vital clearance in the 19th minute, preventing a potential scoring opportunity for the Vipers. Despite their efforts, Catshill struggled to find the back of the net in the first half, with attempts from Tommy and Archie both failing to hit the target.

As the first half drew to a close, in the 30th minute, Archie struck with a well-placed right-footed shot from inside the box.

The second half saw immediate tactical changes, with Arthur and Mason coming on for Seth and Stanley, respectively. Mason quickly made his presence felt, although his attempts in the 31st and 33rd minutes went wide of the mark.

In the 37th minute, Harry S replaced Harry H and Freddie came on for Archie. Mason then had another shot saved and one go wide. Freddie wasted no time in making an impact, on target in the 41st minute following a chaotic goalmouth scramble, with Luka providing the assist.

Just nine minutes later, Freddie struck again, this time from outside the box after a great pass from Harry S, with a stunning left-footed long-range effort.

Warndon Villages Youth U11 Vipers managed to break in the 54th minute with a 1 on 1 with the Catshill GK, Catshill responded swiftly. Lucas had a great shot on the turn saved in the 54th minute and then Mason on target in the 57th minute, with a chance set up by Freddie.

Ethan remained vigilant in goal, making a final save in the 59th. The match concluded with Catshill FC U-11s showcasing their attacking flair and solid defensive work throughout the game. Freddie was notably instrumental, earning recognition as the standout Player of the Match. Archie achieving Player of the Moment.
