Bromsgrove Golf Academy

On Sunday 16th August, we held our annual Adult/Junior Pairs competition, with teams taking on the course in a Betterball Stableford format.

We were delighted to welcome another fantastic turnout, with 26 pairs made up of parents, grandparents and juniors enjoying a brilliant day of golf together.

This competition is an invaluable event in our junior calendar and perfectly showcases what the game of golf should be all about - bringing generations together, creating lasting memories and sharing a love of the game.

The firm course conditions certainly provided a challenge and made for some tough scoring throughout the day. While the event ran longer than anticipated, we'd like to thank everyone who took part, along with those working behind the scenes, for their patience and support. We'll take on board the lessons learned to help make future events run even more smoothly.

Congratulations to our winning pair, Josh Thorpe and his nephew Oscar Thorpe, who posted an outstanding 50 points. A huge well done also to our runners-up, Chris Chidley and his daughter Ella Chidley, who finished with an impressive 47 points.

⛳ Junior Leagues – Event 6 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

On Sunday 2nd August, we held the 6th round of our Junior Golf Leagues, with 50 juniors competing across our four leagues.

Once again, there were some fantastic scores and some great golf on display! 👏⛳ A huge well done to all our juniors who took part and gave it their best.

A big thank you to our Junior Committee and all the parents for their continued support and encouragement throughout the day. Your help is greatly appreciated. 👏

📍 Nine & Dine – Women's Social Community ⛳✨

Our latest Nine & Dine took place on Saturday 18th July, and what a fantastic evening it was!
It was wonderful to see another brilliant turnout, with everyone enjoying nine holes in beautiful weather, followed by great company afterwards. There were plenty of impressive scores, lots of laughter, and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event.

A huge thank you to all of our Lady Members who volunteered their time to support the teams around the course, and a special thank you to Carolyn Fox for hosting the prize presentation.

⛳ Junior Leagues – Event 5 ⛳

Our fifth Junior League event took place on Sunday 12th July, and what a fantastic day it was!

Despite another scorching day and a course playing incredibly firm after the recent dry weather, our junior golfers rose to the challenge brilliantly. It was fantastic to see such impressive golf on display, along with excellent etiquette, sportsmanship and plenty of smiles throughout the day ☀️🙌.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, and a massive thank you to all the parents, grandparents and our Junior Committee for their continued help and support—it wouldn't be possible without you 🙏.

🏆 *Junior Club Championship 2026* 🏆

On Saturday we held our Junior Club Championship, with 14 of our fantastic juniors taking on the challenge of 18 holes to compete for the Gross and Nett titles – and the opportunity to have their names added to the honours boards in reception.

The scorching temperatures and firm, fast course made for a real test of golf, but we couldn’t have been more impressed with the resilience, determination and sportsmanship shown by every player throughout the day. You all did yourselves proud.

It’s new Mat day for the Teaching studio & Teaching bays 🤩⛳️

On Sunday, 28th June, our Junior Leagues reached the halfway point of the season as the fourth events took place 🏆.

Played in beautiful sunshine, the day featured some fantastic golf across all four development leagues. A brilliant 75 juniors took part throughout the day, continuing the excellent turnout we've seen all season 👏.

A huge thank you, as always, to all the parents and our fantastic Junior Committee for their continued support and dedication, helping to make each event such a success🙏.

Happy Birthday to the one and only Joshua Thorpe today 🥳🎂

Our Junior Mercian team began the defence of their Mercian League title on Saturday 16th May with an away fixture against a strong Gaudet Luce side. In challenging mixed weather conditions, Gaudet Luce came out on top, winning two matches and halving the third. 🏆

The team’s next fixture was another away match at Hagley Golf Club, where our juniors delivered an outstanding performance, winning all three matches on a beautiful day for golf. 👏

Congratulations to all the juniors who have represented the club so far, and a sincere thank you to Gaudet Luce and Hagley for their warm hospitality. ⛳️

We are delighted to have once again entered two teams into the 2026 Golf Sixes League. The league is designed to support younger juniors as they take their first steps onto the main golf course, competing in pairs Texas Scramble matches against a variety of golf clubs from across Worcestershire.

The opening fixture took place at Hagley Golf Club on Saturday 23rd May in glorious sunshine. It was a fantastic event, superbly hosted, and we would like to extend our thanks to James Green and everyone at Hagley Golf Club for organising such an enjoyable day. 🙌

The second fixture was hosted at home by Bromsgrove Golf Centre, where both leagues were played back-to-back during what proved to be a busy but brilliant weekend of junior golf. Our thanks go to Josh Thorpe for organising and hosting a successful home event. 🙏

After the opening two fixtures, our North-West Worcestershire League team currently sit in first place with 12 Order of Merit points, while our North-East Worcestershire League team are in third place with 8 Order of Merit points. 👏

A huge well done to all of the juniors who have taken part so far. We look forward to the upcoming fixtures and hope the fun, enjoyment, and enthusiasm continue throughout the season. ⛳️
