This time next Sunday it will be the final day of the 25/26 season and our last two cup finals! Where did that season go!!

First off we will have our 1pm kick off will see the Steven Troth Cup Final where FC South Redditch will host Beoley swifts Fc.

Looking to start early and get players in to finish this season and get ready for next year.

90 minutes of training on 3g in redditch. Matches at home on 3g at south bromsgrove.

Committed players ready for next year if interested can pay a small signing fee which in turn gets a tracksuit, training top and enhanced insurance that covers alot more than the standard offered by most clubs in event of serious injury.

Good setup this year with level 2 coach and looking to further improve level and socially we tend to after games go for a drink. We also arrange occasional night outs so are really looking for good committed players who want to be a part of a close knit club.

Today's game seen us take on Cricketers Arms FC yet again and what a way to bounce back! I wasn't there sadly but I've had the briefing on what happened 😉

cricketers took the lead with a scramble in the box but we were quick to get back in when Dan T volleyed in off a corner, then a nice scott cutback was finished by c***a for 2. Then for the 3rd tinners absolutely bodied their boy ky stack to get himself down the wing to cut back for coz to set up debutant Ben for 3.... Ky deciding he didn't want no more smoke and taking himself off to avoid further punishment.

Ash Donaldson attempted to rally his "bunch of mongs" up but this seemed to have a detrimental effect as we then seen Ben hit the bar with a header but luckily the ball scrambled about but jack hammered it in for 4 and then a absolute elegantly placed 25 yarder by c***a seen us make it 5. Looks like tissues made the right call going for a weekend away with the missus rather than being left in tears against the swifts this weekend.

An absolute real performance from our lads who finally shown that our results don't truly show our quality we have, beating a good cricketers side who I doubt will have too many games like that.

Motm for us. Ben Hewitt- great debut from Ben seen him heavily involved in alot of our good play.

Sundays game seen us travel to West Bromwich to play our county cup game vs langley town gold.

We didn't wake up first 10 minutes and a sloppy loss in the middle and a needless high line seen their striker race through for 1 nil after 5 mins and they made chances with a freekick undoing us again when josh made a great save off the header but they reacted quicker for 2 nil.

This seems to wake us up and debutant Jon myrie was controlling the middle and Scott and Luke were terrorising their fullbacks to see us miss a few really good chances including one flash across the face only for the keeper to slightly touch it to stop a touch off gil getting us a goal. Eventually our good play paid off when gil raced onto a misplaced header to nod it over their keeper and make it 2-1. Couple more chances followed but it stayed 2-1 upto HT.

Second half we continued to probe and a great chance seen their keeper push away to prevent a tap in and they ran straight up the other end against the run of play and their striker raced on again to get himself a 2nd with about 65 minutes gone. The game then went quite flat after that and a mistake at the back seen a bouncing ball raced onto by their striker to score his hattrick with a 25 yard screamer. Can see why he bagged 50+ goals last season.

Don't really feel the scoreline reflects the way we played but again key moments we seem to switch off. Onto next week vs south redditch.

Running a bit behind, 29th September seen us take on Ac merlin at greenlands.

Key moments seen us lose this game really. We started off well and were creating chances down both sides with Scott and darell seeming to trouble their fullbacks. The 1st chance of the game seen scott nicely cut back but darells close range half volley sadly went wide. Had a couple half chances and seen another chance wasted... AC then picked up and started making chances themselves where Ryan in goal made 2 brilliant saves to keep it level but then merlin did seem to be dominating the aerial battles which didn't suit us. Just before half time a through ball out through by myself was ran on to by darell for a 1 v 1 but he tried to round the keeper but took it too wide and put it wide.

Second half merlin continued to threaten and their 88 adam doupe was doing a good job in winning the aerial battles in the middle making it hard for us. We sadly started playing to their strengths and a corner seen them bundle it in near post for 1 nil. The game then really struggled to see any massive chances until with 10 minutes left merlin sealed the points with a through ball well finished.

Another frustrating game where key moments undone any good work.

Seen enough to know results will come though.

So today seen us take on familiar foes Cricketers Arms FC at Old forge.

Game was quite even at the start, with cricketers being the controllers of the ball, but us looking to play more direct and quickly. Cricketers tricky wingers were trying to get in behind but we were solid defensively and darell and Luke working well out wide to stretch their back line. Couple half chances for both sides which seen myself and their striker not hit the target from just outside the box. And we did make some real important blocks in there to keep it tight.

A rushed back pass clearance caused by their press presented R.davies with a chance where he made no mistake to put away for 1 nil. We continued to battle and after their defender Ash attempted to decapitate me with a high boot 😅 we seen the resulting freekick nicely delivered by RP but I couldn't keep the header down. The equaliser came when Mr reliable Ez parkes switched a lovely ball for the handful Luke to twist his man like a pretzel and put it beautifully bottom corner for 1-1. 5 mins before half time a nice through ball seen jack hack down their striker for a pen which he scored for 2-1 HT and although cricketers had been good we were definitely still in the game.

2nd half they really started controlling the game but against the run slightly we equalised when a long ball from a deep freekick was flicked on over the defence by myself to see darell get away from to see us equalise. At 2-2 this seemed to bring cricketers to probe even more and with roughly 10 minutes left R.sproston turned in nicely past Jake and then rifled it in the bottom corner from outside the box to give them the win and on balance probably a fair result.

Couple mistakes against a good side costing us but promising performance where we had 7 changes from last week. Good luck to 'tissues' and the rest of the cricketers for the rest of the season

3 points in the bag....

Sundays game seen us take on greenlands for a 10.15 KO.

We started the game really well where as greenlands seemed to struggle to get into a groove. We continued to play the ball around nicely, and seen a few efforts come close but not really much after 15. The lively darell Thompson then crashed a lovely effort off the bar and we seen a deflected cross hit their post, really knocking at the door....

Our opener came from Jake the wall cullinane taking no prisoners and winning the battle with the two greenlands players and then played an excellent ball for darell to finish nicely near post,1 nil... we continued to play well but nothing to add to the first half.

2nd half we started where we left off and a lovely ball from TWP gave darell all he needed to expertly finish for 2.

Debutant Luke yelland then shown me why he was worth the 10 quid transfer 😅 when he drove down our left and despite seeing his 1st effort blocked, then lifted the rebound over the keeper for 3 nil at 60 mins.... greenlands dead and buried.... or so we thought....

greenlands then actually put things together and really gave a good account of themselves and proved they are no mugs and started spreading the ball and looking menacing. Real end to end with both sides being wasteful, with cal and gil missing for us when both could of squared it. Greenlands reduced the deficit when they closed us down and only a half clearance seen them tuck in a good effort for 3-1. Not long later a high cross caused some confusion between Ryan and the defence and their striker was the most determined to get there and put the header in to make it a nervy 3-2. Then gil picked up a 2nd yellow with 15 left. Ry khan made a great save to keep it 3-2.

Motm coz. Winning the ball constantly and seemed to be everywhere apart from when its his round...
