Dear Parents and Swimmers,

From Monday 17th May we shall be opening up our reception for you to purchase the badges and certificates that your children have worked so hard for. As a reminder, each badge and certificate costs £4.00 and payment must be by card please.

We politely request that you only do this on the way out of the sports centre after your children’s swimming lesson has ended. Access into the building for the start of their swimming lesson is still via the outdoor stairs and in through the swimming pool corridor. This is to maintain the integrity of the anti-clockwise direction of traffic and to minimise contact with other people. Entry into the sports centre is still not allowed through the main reception doors.

We would ask that you exercise common sense when visiting reception for everyone’s safety. You must wear a face covering (unless medically exempt) and If you notice that reception is busy and that you are unable to maintain the two metre social distancing advice, please wait until the following week.

Payment to top up swimming lessons must still be done from home please.

Many thanks
BSSA

Dear Parent and Swimmers,

I have been waiting for nearly a year to announce the re-opening of our Bromsgrove School Swimming Academy for everyone!

I could not be more pleased to tell you that, from APRIL 12th, and in line with the current Government, Swim England and DofE advice, we will be resuming our BSSA swimming lesson programme in full.

Every child will resume their lessons in the same class, at the same time, on the same day and with the same number of lesson credits in their accounts.

If you cannot remember when your child’s lesson takes place then I would first encourage you to log on to our parent portal to check. If you need to contact us to remind you then please DO NOT call reception. Instead please email [email protected] but please be patient because we are not yet fully back in School. We will answer all enquiries as soon as we can and there is plenty of time before April 12th.

I shall contact you all again soon to advise you of the Covid-19 protocols we will have in place to keep everyone safe, healthy and happy. I hope you are as overjoyed as we all are that we shall be starting again soon. Until then, please stay safe, take care of yourselves and others.

I am delighted to inform you that all of our Bromsgrove School Tennis Academy lessons at Bromsgrove School are continuing as normal. All lunchtime and after school lessons will continue for day pupils and boarders alike.

Sadly, all of the lessons at Winterfold have had to be suspended during the current lockdown period. This includes BSTA lessons, Mini Tennis lessons as well as those in our Performance Academy.
We look forward to re-starting these in December.

If you have any queries about tennis lessons please email our Director of Tennis, Mr. Richard Lawton on [email protected].

Thank you.

Dear Member,

Please can I take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding during the School’s Coronavirus lockdown. I know you’re as keen and eager to get back to some form of physical activity and exercise at Bromsgrove School as we are to see you again so I wanted to update you regarding our re-opening plans.

At Bromsgrove and Winterfold Schools our priority is our pupils, their parents and our staff. In short, our intention is to allow pupils to settle back into School at the start of term and we intend to re-open to members, swimming lessons and external bookings from Monday 28th September at Bromsgrove School and Monday 14th September at Winterfold School.

I’m hope you understand that our focus on our pupils must be of paramount importance but we are all working hard to welcome you all back to our lovely Schools for your sports and leisure activities as soon as possible.

If these plans change as a result of any announcements I will, of course, let everyone know as soon as possible.

Until then, take care and stay safe.

Following the latest announcements by the UK Prime Minister yesterday afternoon, Bromsgrove and Winterfold Schools have urgently reviewed their plans.

The UK Government is now advising extra measures relating to social distancing, a prohibition on large gatherings and non-essential travel, protection of vulnerable individuals and whole household isolation.

School Facilities and Outside Bookings
Following on from the above, and with immediate effect from the date and time of this correspondence, all major School facilities will now be unable to accommodate bookings by external groups.

Accordingly, all of the sports facilities at Bromsgrove and Winterfold School are now closed until 19th April, at which time we will review and act on the accepted advice of the Government. In summary:-

• All external bookings are cancelled.
• All Bromsgrove School Swimming Academy lessons are cancelled. Please note that all affected swimmers will not have any credits removed from their accounts so no refunds are necessary.
• The sports facilities are closed to all members.

Whilst we are loathe to disrupt other people’s plans the health and well-being of everyone must be our first priority and we thank you for your understanding of our actions at such short notice.

Please look after yourselves and those close to you and we look forward to seeing you all again in the future.
