Less than 2 weeks until R A C E D A Y. There will be trophies up for grabs and medals for all finishers… but we are pretty excited for this reward at the end of the race! We are willing the sun to come out on Sunday 19th, who’s with us?
Bromyard Round the Downs has joined Instagram! Not sure what we’re doing, but we met a lovely runner on the course yesterday who hadn’t heard of us yet. She uses Instagram rather than Facebook, and we wondered how many others are the same? We want to connect with you in both worlds - come and say hi wherever you are! 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏼♀️

The course was looking stunning today with plenty of gorgeous orchids to take in! There is a dedicated team of volunteers who look after the Bromyard Downs Common, who over the years have helped cultivate a rich variety of wildlife and flora. Read about their brilliant work here http://www.bromyarddowns.co.uk/wildlife/
Better still, come and take it all in yourselves on race day 🤩 book your place here 🙌🏼 www.avtiming.com/roundthedowns
What did you get up to for your Platinum Jubilee celebrations? Great to see some familiar faces around Bromyard last Thursday evening for the scarecrow parade. We are looking forward to having Champion cryer Peder Nielsen back with us for Round the Downs 2022, bringing that uniqueness of Bromyard to race day!
Have you booked your place? ⏳
Not long now!
J U N E is here and the cups are coming home! 2021’s winning woman and man aren’t able to join us this year, so come along and see if one of these will be yours this time! 🏆
We are really looking forward to seeing everyone on race day - *3 weeks* today! If you haven’t already, book your place now. Bookings will close on Sunday 12th June (or earlier if places sell out first) so don’t leave it too late! 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️
Our green medals will be back for 2022! Minimising our environmental impact is high on our priorities and last year’s medals were made using local, sustainable wood. Has anyone got any ideas on how to make ‘Bromyard Round the Downs’ a more sustainable running event? We’d love to hear your thoughts - what are your favourite ‘green’ features of running races you’ve attended previously? 🤩🌿💚
Remember this? If it’s safe to do so and the farmers / neighbouring livestock allow it, we hope to have drone footage again this year!
Hope to see you running on the 19th June - we look forward to capturing your joy from above ☺️ 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Less than 2 months to go until race day! ***NEW COURSE ROUTE***
The course begins at Brockhampton Primary School and follows a grassy half mile climb up the Bromyard Downs. From the top of the climb, the route follows the western perimeter of Warren Wood, joining the old racecourse for a stretch towards the Stourport road. The route then doubles back, following the edge of Hillfield Coppice, and makes its way past the old Shepherd’s Hut towards Shepherd’s Pool. Runners will be single file along this narrow path, before joining field and track towards Warren Farm. Here, grass terrain gives way to gravel track for a distance of approximately 0.3 miles, before returning to grass footpath back to the Downs. At the point of rejoining the Downs, runners will turn right uphill to run a SECOND LOOP. When returning to this point a second time, runners will turn left to enjoy a downhill grass finish.
