Reiki and Universal Energy

Recently, I spoke with a staff member at a Chinese restaurant about displaying my Tai Chi class poster in their takeout area. My friend, who is also my Reiki teacher, asked if she could display her Reiki business card there as well. During our conversation, the staff member mentioned that "Reiki" translates to "Tai Chi" in Japanese, which sparked an interesting discussion.

I came across an intriguing interview discussing the original meanings of Christian prayers. It highlighted how the original words, when spoken in their native languages, had meanings beyond their literal translations. They were about tuning the body's frequency to align with the universe’s energy. Interestingly, one of the words for "God" was described as representing both supreme male and female energy frequencies. This suggests that God is a unification of opposing energies, much like the concept of Yin and Yang.

So, how do we align with the Universe, Source, or God?

Once we recognise that this is all about energy, the names become less important. Our bodies are filled with energetic pathways, known as meridians, and all things are composed of atoms. Around each atom's nucleus, particles are bonded in ways that resemble magnetism or gravity—these forces are unseen yet crucial.

There must be an energy connection here, as our bodies are made of atoms. During meditation or Reiki practice, I often feel energy, heat, and magnetism flowing through me. I believe that when I engage in these practices, I am energising my atoms, sharing energy for healing and positive purposes.

Reiki doesn’t require physical proximity; it can be practiced remotely or individually. The fact that our bodies contain the same elements as stars and planets convinces me of our profound connection to Earth, the sun, the solar system, and the entire universe.

Becoming aware of Reiki and the spiritual and physical effects of Tai Chi elevates my frequency and brings me closer to the universe, Source, or God. In the end, it’s all about vibration:

- Positive Vibration = Good/Grace
- Negative Vibration = Bad/Sinful

Our goal is to cultivate more good/grace and diminish bad/sin. It is that simple, and it all begins within us. By awakening to these universal energies, we naturally connect to them. By setting our intention, we set the flow.

I stumbled upon a Joe Rogan podcast where he displayed images of quantum-entangled particles that resembled the Yin and Yang. I cannot verify if this is true, but it provides food for thought. Are our bodies, at a particle level, quantum-entangled with the Universe? I’ll let you decide.

I hope this resonates with you.

Chakras

My interest in chakras began when I read a book on reflexology. It introduced me to the concept of meridians, or channels of energy known as "Chi," which can be manipulated for healing. This idea is also found in practices like Shiatsu and acupuncture.

To draw on the willow tree analogy once more, the human body has a complex network of nerves, veins, and arteries, much like a tree's root system. Nerves transmit signals that allow us to sense our environment and coordinate body movements. Arteries circulate oxygenated blood, while veins return deoxygenated blood to the lungs. This intricate system illustrates the body's capability to carry energy through various forms. As electrochemical beings, we see the manifestation of this energy, which the Chinese call "Chi."

What are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centers naturally situated within the body. Each chakra serves distinct functions and contributes to the body's overall energy flow.

The Importance of Chakras in Tai Chi

Tai Chi promotes good posture and precise body alignment, influencing everything down to the skeletal level. It encourages natural, deep breathing, which enhances blood oxygenation. Through partner exercises and solo practice, Tai Chi develops your sense of touch and awareness of efficient and coordinated movement, fostering innate strength within the muscles.

With correct posture and fluid movement, the chakras, which align with the body's central line or spine, are naturally balanced, cleansed, and energized. The controlled movement and natural breath foster the flow and harmony of these energy centers.

Chakra Locations and Functions

Root:Located at the perineum, associated with grounding and stability.
Sacral: Located at the ge****ls, associated with creativity and emotional balance.
Solar Plexus: Located at the stomach, linked to personal power and confidence.
Heart: Located at the sternum, connected to love and compassion.
Throat: Associated with communication and expression.
Third Eye: Located just above the eyebrows, aligned with intuition and perception.
Crown: Located at the top of the head, representing spiritual connection and enlightenment.

Each chakra has a distinct energy and function that contributes to our overall well-being. Tai Chi, through its emphasis on balance, posture, and breath, helps maintain the harmonious flow of energy through these vital centres.

I have studied Tai Chi for more years than I care to remember. I was inspired to write this

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is a comprehensive and unique martial art system rooted in self-defense. Like all martial arts, it evolved out of the necessity for individuals to protect themselves and their families.

What Makes Tai Chi Unique?

Tai Chi stands out in its approach to movement and strength. It emphasises coordinating the body for efficient motion and harnessing natural strength. The structural integrity of the human body begins with the feet. A solid foundation starts from the soles, aligning the body in an upright stance. Joints in the ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, arms, wrists, and neck should be as relaxed as possible while remaining ready to move. Imagine the crown of your head suspended from a string, similar to a puppet's head, to maintain vertical alignment.

The feet should align with the shoulders, creating a stable base from which the body can move.

The Willow Tree Concept

A central concept in Tai Chi is to emulate a willow tree. This means having strong, deep roots that provide stability, while the visible parts of the tree remain flexible, bending with the wind. This image inspires Tai Chi practice, where the feet provide a solid foundation for the flow of energy between the ground and the body. The legs, hips, torso, arms, and shoulders stay flexible, strong, and relaxed to facilitate energy transmission. Breathing remains natural and unforced, always through the nose.

Meditation in Motion

One of my earliest encounters with meditation was through an audiobook, which guided me to relax my body, starting from the soles of my feet and gradually moving up to my face. This experience led me to realize that my Tai Chi practice is a form of moving meditation. By focusing on posture and energy flow, Tai Chi integrates meditation with martial arts study, encompassing both relaxed movements and the vigorous aspects of training.

The Philosophy of Martial Arts

Martial arts present an interesting paradox: by studying the art of combat, we learn the futility of violence. This journey transforms practitioners into peaceful warriors—individuals of moral integrity who respect life. Tai Chi, as a martial art, embodies this philosophy, promoting peace through discipline and practice.
