Lowerhouse Bowling Club

Lowerhouse is a self maintained British Crown Green Bowling Club, located off Lowerhouse Lane, Burnley BB12 6JE. The bowling green is cared for to the highest standard by our Green Keeper David Ashworth with the help of valued members Paul Hargreaves and Brian Smith. You really do have to visit Lowerhouse to appreciate and understand how well maintained this green and it surrounds are, even if you just look in when you next walk past, you will see our gem of a bowling green.

The bowling green is normally opening for the public most dry afternoons and evening through the bowling season (Late March to Early September), and for members it is always accessible weather permitting.

We are very fortunate to have several teams with a wide ranging ability of talent, that play in The Pendle League on Mondays Evening, The Burnley Midweek League on Thursday Evening, The Burnley District League on Fridays Evening and East Lancashire Saturday League in the Afternoons.

So here at Lowerhouse you are always able to find a friendly face to introduce you to bowls, be it having a go for the first time, to having a practise with someone new, or maybe you fancy join one of our teams. Or why not bring the family down and have a go at a really cheap sport, that everyone can play equally no matter the age or gender.
