Zak Sturgeon - GOLF

Down at Bowood Golf Course this week competing in the PGA Championship. Youngest in the PGA this year & excited to play such a dynamic course & get some more experience under my belt. A difficult day yesterday with the weather not on our side. But, gorgeous today, and hoping for better pin positions 🤪🤣 Day Two - let’s av it! 🏌️‍♂️✅

One Week. Four Comps. Plenty Learned. ⛳️👍🏻

Took a loss in a tough scratch match play with - always good to test yourself.
Then bounced back at Bury GC, qualifying for the Coca-Cola Champs, followed by earning my spot in the English PGA Champs later in the week.

Not always perfect, but it’s all progress. Solid week of golf. ⛳💪

ENGLISH PGA QUALIFIER ✅
Didn’t have my best stuff for this one, but got the job done.

The course was tough and I found myself having to scrap for every shot. Once I had a rough idea of where the cut line would fall, I started playing a bit more defensively. And that led to some sloppy bogeys creeping in. Ended the day with 34 putts, which tells its own story.

Even though I wasn’t swinging it how I know I can, I’m proud of how I managed myself round the course and kept focused. Sometimes it’s just about getting through, and I did just that, sneaking into the top 21 to qualify.

That means I’ll be heading away to compete in the PGA English Championship — another great opportunity and one I’m really looking forward to.

Not my sharpest performance, but overall a successful week of golf. Onwards! ⛳

A few highlights from a tough but solid day at Bury GC. Started strong with a -3 on the front nine and kept it steady when things got scrappy. Qualified for the Champs and buzzing to get stuck in when the time comes. 💪⛳

COCA-COLA CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFIER UPDATE 👍🏻⛳️
Cracking day out at Bury Golf Club for the Coca-Cola Champs Qualifier. Came out flying with -3 through the front nine and honestly some of the best golf I’ve played in a while.

The course was no joke. Firm fairways, quick greens, and pins that made you work for everything. Got stung with a double on 10 after a bit of bad luck, then just grafted my way round the back nine to hold it together.

Tough field and only top 25 got through, so I’m buzzing to say I’ve qualified. Big shout to Deni Griffiths for top-class caddying all day — couldn’t have done it without him.

Now looking ahead to the Coca-Cola Championships — three days away, big one that. Let’s have it! ⛳
