Before there was Hatters FC, there were Helmshore Harriers. That Sunday league squad is where so many of our lads shared unforgettable memories, hosted legendary parties, and forged the lifelong friendships that inspired us to build Hatters FC.

​Now, we’re coming full circle for a cause incredibly close to our hearts. We are playing to honor a fantastic keeper, a brilliant teammate, and quite simply one of the kindest, most selfless men you could ever meet: Chris Brandon.

Match Report: Clitheroe United 2-6 Hatters FC

Following their recent cup triumph, Hatters FC were determined to finish an outstanding season on a high as they travelled to Clitheroe United for their final fixture of the campaign.

The Hatters arrived with a squad heavily depleted by injuries and had just one recognised substitute available—the club captain. However, with numbers looking thin, two familiar faces in Jordan Beard and Brendan Watson, who had come along to watch, were drafted into the squad to provide some much-needed depth.

The visitors endured a difficult start and found themselves 1-0 down early on. Rather than letting their heads drop, Hatters responded in style. The equaliser came in spectacular fashion as Jordan Beard curled a corner kick directly into the net to level the scores at 1-1.

That goal sparked the visitors into life. Playing with confidence and attacking intent, Hatters took complete control of the game, adding three more goals to establish a commanding 4-1 lead.

There was still time for one of the moments of the match. Jordan Beard stepped up to a free kick from around 30 yards and unleashed a sensational strike that flew into the top corner, extending the advantage to 5-1.

Clitheroe United continued to battle and managed to pull one back to make it 5-2, but Hatters had the final say, adding a sixth goal before the final whistle to seal an emphatic 6-2 victory and bring the curtain down on a memorable season.

The result was the perfect way to end the campaign, capping off what has been a fantastic season for Hatters FC. After lifting the cup and finishing with another impressive win, everyone at the club can now enjoy a well-earned summer break before looking forward to going again next season.

Man of the Match – Jordan Beard

For a man who was supposedly injured, Jordan Beard certainly didn't look it. Drafted into the squad at the last minute, he produced a performance worthy of the biggest stage, strolling around the pitch like a prime Eric Cantona. He scored directly from a corner, completed his hat-trick with a stunning 30-yard free kick into the top corner, and was a constant threat throughout. A superb display to cap off a brilliant evening

​Word on the street is their manager has already run a couple of "cheeky" tactical coaching sessions just to prepare for us. We love the dedication—bring it on! 🤝⚽
