We welcome members and visitors alike. One of the finest Welsh links courses; we celebrated our centenary in 1994 by hosting the Amateur Home Internationals.

Ashburnham golf club, located in Carmarthenshire on the outskirts of Llanelli in the harbour town of Burry Port is home to a beautiful true links course and restaurant with views overlooking the Gower peninsula.

⛳ A Closer Look at the 18th

The final hole at Ashburnham is a unique and challenging finish to your round.

Not long, but the fairway turns left around 120 yards from the green, with the putting surface sitting high on a raised plateau. Take too much of the dogleg off the tee and you can quickly find trouble.

A good tee shot leaves a chance to attack, but the raised, tiered green still demands a precise approach — making the 18th a hole where a good round can quickly become a great one… or unravel at the final hurdle! 👀

And then, once you’re on the green, take a moment to enjoy the stunning panoramic views across the course and coastline. 🌊⛳

⛳ A Closer Look at the 17th

Next up in our look at Ashburnham’s tough finishing stretch — the 17th hole.

A tough tee shot awaits, with an embankment running down the right, and thick fescue to the left separating the 17th and 2nd fairways.

Find the fairway and you’re faced with a narrow green guarded by bunkers.

A tough but rewarding hole — accuracy is key! 👀⛳

⛳ A Closer Look at the 16th

Next up in our look at Ashburnham’s tough finishing stretch — the par 3, 16th hole.

One of the most spectacular holes on this championship golf course 👌

The tee shot offers a panoramic view of the Gower peninsula, and course stretching out before you.

The hole itself offers the player a shot to a green well below the elevated tee which is set before an old small gauge railway line. Wind direction plays an all-important part in club selection, but to hit a good tee shot onto the green here is thrilling.

🏌️ A Closer Look at the Finishing Stretch at Ashburnham

Over the next few days, we’re taking a closer look at the tough finishing stretch at Ashburnham Golf Club — holes 15 through 18. ⛳

Today, we start with the 15th hole. An incredibly long Par 4 and without doubt one of the most challenging holes on the golf course.

A demanding tee shot, a long second, and a green protected by a mounds and thick fescue. And while the green is actually quite generous once you’re on it, from the fairway it certainly doesn’t look it! 👀

And even when you find the green, it’s sloping back to front — get above the hole and you’re left with a seriously tough putt! 😬

Beautiful as it is daunting, it is a hole that you will remember. A proper test! ⛳
