We have just received the certificate and covering letter from the East Anglian Air Ambulance thanking us for the donation from the Mixed Doubles petanque event. We know this is not to us but to everyone who has taken part in the event since 2009. The situations change and the players may have changed over time but the event remains the same. Fundraising for a life saving cause. We thank you. x

Town and City twinning trophies are a great idea and if you are playing a petanque event as part of the fun, maybe a f***y trophy?

We can supply 14 and 12 inch Annual Award Shields. These large Presentation Wooden Trophy has a Petanque disc on Centre shield and yearly plaques. Please state gold or silver details. Design may vary. Extra shields can be added to suit your requirements. Any extra Shields will be £3.00 each. ​

Everyone hates losing but in a competition someone always comes last. Wooden spoon trophies are available to cheer them up. £8.50 each with sports centre. Engraving at our usual rate of £3.50 per plaque up to 25 characters and 10p per letter thereafter.

If you have an annual trophy that is getting full up with engraving. We can add another level to continue the trophy into the future. Here we see an example of how it can be done.

East Anglian Air Ambulance Pen-Y-Coed Petanque Mixed Doubles Petanque Competition Bury St Edmunds British Sugar Sports and Social Club 25th May 2026 Oh boy! That was hot! We gave every team a bottle of water and shade was required between games. Tricky conditions to play in as the afternoon has no shade on the piste at all.
22 Teams battled it out for the trophy and raised money for the local East Anglian Air Ambulance. After 5 games the two highest scoring teams played a final to decide the eventual winner. This year the 2nd place was a tie so we had to run a two end play off to decide who went into which play off. Once this was sorted we played the 1st and 2nd play off. The eventual winners were Adrian and Myra with 2nd place going to Chris and Carol. 3rd place went to Georgi and Carol with Simon and Ellie coming 4th
All trophies were donated by Pen-Y-Coed Petanque and all players received goody bags containing EAAA items as well as treats, water and Petanque souvenirs of the day
A total of £712.00 was raised with entry fees and raffle for the EAAA. The competition was the closest we have ever had with teams tied in 2nd place, 5th place 10th place and 17th place.
We would like to thank all those players who attended and the donations made by others. We cannot do this fundraising without you. Thanks again.
