TEAMS x WEEK 6

The 1st XI head to ashlyns road to take on Frinton on sea CC in their first red ball fixture for the summer.

The 2nd XI take on Kesgrave CC at the Victory ground and the 4th XI take on Walsham Le Willows CC.

LEADING RUNS x WICKETS 🏏

As we head into week 6; here are the top 5 run scorers and wicket takers across the whole club at the conclusion of week 5.

Alex Maynard and Nik Radhakrishnan are also 1st and 2nd place respectively in the EAPL run scorers list whilst BSE legend and star all rounder Tom Rash is 4th in the EAPL wicket takers so far into the season!

Young leg spinner Krishna Sinha leads the wickets for the club having taken our first 5wkt bag of the season!

MATCH RESULTS x WEEK 5

1st XI

Saturday’s clash against Sudbury CC saw the Wolfpack notch 309 in their 50 overs thanks to Alex Maynard’s superbly crafted ton - His first in the EAPL!

Nik Radhakrishnan and Alex Maynard reached their 2nd 100run opening partnership for the season, 139 for the first wicket as Radhakrishnan was dismissed for 73(61).

A middle order collapse stabilised by Maynard’s 118 and Cruickshanks 27* saw the Wolfpack through to 50 overs.

In return with the ball, as has been the trend Tom Rash found 2 early wickets well supported at the other end by Mark Smith with 2 of his own.
Skipper Josh Cantrell then took 3 of his own aided by fellow spinners Ben Whittaker and James McKinney taking 1 each.

A comprehensive victory by 140 runs has the Wolfpack at 4th place with only 1 loss going into the longer format section of the season.

TEAMS x WEEK 5

The 1st XI take on Sudbury CC at The Vic in the final one day fixture for the first half of the season.

The 2nd XI head out to Ashlyns Rd taking on Frinton on Sea CC.

1st XI results:

Week 4

BSE chased down 204 set by A&B wanderers thanks to skipper Tom Rash’s 3/39 and experienced Ali Allchin’s 2/26. They were well supported by Mark Smith and Alex Cruickshank taking 2 wickets each.

The run chase was promptly led by Alex Maynard with 60(53) ; skipper Tom Rash saw the side home with 49*(50) wrapping up a third win in four games and a brilliant all round display for himself.

The first 3 weeks of the saw the Wolfpack take on some strong outfits and winning 2 out of 3 games.

A very close game to start the season in week 1 against bolstered by the inclusions of former internationals Monty Panesar and Phil Mustard went down to the wire and saw the wolves take the win.

Week 2 and the rain along with it saw the wolves through to a tough loss against in a rain affected fixture.

Week 3 and a return to the victory oval resulted in a comprehensive win over in a low scoring game.

We are gutted to announce that Loydy will be leaving the club this season. George, who has been with the wolfpack for the last 5 years, will be playing his cricket in London this summer. Loyd, whose dibbly dobbly left-arm drifters have caused many problems in the over the years, will be missed around the club. Keep enjoying your shandy’s and work on your first touch…
