Senior Presentation Night 2026 🏏🏆

What a night to round off the 2026 season.
The clubhouse was full, the "S" theme was taken very seriously, and it was brilliant to see everyone make the effort — Superheroes, Snowmen, Sailors and.... a Squid?
To be honest theres a few costumes we're still trying to work out.
Fair play to all who dressed up, you made the night and we loved to see your commitment.

Sunday brings the curtain down on the campaign with a double header.

🏏 THAT’S A WRAP… ALMOST! 🏏

With just 3 matches left to play this weekend, the cricket season is sadly coming to an end — but before we finish, we want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the club throughout the season!

Whether you’ve played, watched, had a drink at the bar, brought the family down, attended an event or simply supported us from the sidelines — YOU make this club what it is. 🙌

Without your support, the club simply couldn’t keep going, and there would be no cricket to enjoy. So, from everyone at the club, THANK YOU! 👏

But… don’t put the cricket club away just yet! 😉

Although the cricket season is coming to an end, we still need your support throughout the autumn/winter months. We’ll be holding plenty of events for everyone to enjoy, and the club will continue to be open:

For some it was their final weekend, here are those who stood tallest.

An all-round display against Stayley CC 1st XI.
82 off just 67 balls with 9 fours and a maximum, then 2 wickets for 43 off 11 overs with 2 maidens.

Elton CC 3rd XI | GMCL Sunday Division 1 | Away V Friends Sporting Club

The 3s headed away to The Pavillion but after only 7 balls being bowled, the match was abandoned due to the pitch being declared dangerous and unfit for play.

Result: Abandoned

4th XI | GMCL Sunday 3 North | Home vs Edgworth CC |

Edgworth won the toss at Leigh Lane and elected to bat first, and Elton's bowlers made an excellent early impression, James Forrest (2/34 off 8 overs, 1 maiden) and Will Raw (1/12 off 4 overs, 1 maiden) putting the top order under pressure inside the first few overs.
But then came the match-defining moment of the innings, No.3 and No.6 came together at 19/4 and produced a 117-run fifth wicket stand across roughly 26 overs that completely transformed the game.
No.3 was patient in making 69 off 79 balls with 10 fours, while No.6 contributed a composed 48 off 75, and between them they took Edgworth from what looked like a quick game with a batting collapse to a position of strength. Henry Hatt finally broke the stand to finish with an impressive 3/26 off 5 overs including a maiden, and No.7 then arrived to strike 41 off just 25 balls in a cameo that pushed the total beyond 188 before Luke Bussell (3/17 off 6 Overs, 1 Maiden) and Caitlyn Hunter finished up the tail.
Edgworth were bowled out for 198 in the 40th over, a total built almost entirely on that pivotal mid-innings recovery.

Elton's reply showed real character before ultimately falling short. Phil Donnelly (23 off 44) and William Raw (13 off 23) provided a steady 31 run platform, and when Tom Frost arrived at the crease for his final time for the season he produced a quick fire 40 off just 36 balls (six fours and a six) combining with Donnelly in a 49 run second wicket stand across roughly 10 overs that briefly had Elton dreaming of a remarkable chase.
But then Jacob Kerrigan delivered a spin masterclass, an extraordinary 5/13 off 9 overs that ripped through the middle order in a devastating passage of play, reducing Elton from 80/2 to 90/7 with five wickets falling for just 10 runs. Frost fell caught behind for 40, and three more followed for nothing as the innings threatened to cave.
Skipper James Richardson stood tall to not let that happen, an unbeaten 35 off 69 balls, coming to the crease at 88/5 and playing a hand in every remaining partnership.
His 39 run eighth wicket stand with Kai Ryan (9 off 31) across roughly 11 overs hauled Elton back to respectability, and Abdul Hadi chipped in with 5* off 15 to help push the total to 150/9 off the full 40 overs.

Result: Lost By 48 Runs

Thats the wrap up for the week, Looking ahead to next week we have the final games of the season.
The 4's have a double hheader across Saturday and Sunday, while the 3s have one left.
