What a Bank Holiday weekend for Ramsbottom Cricket Club! ☀️🏏

6 matches, brilliant weather, fantastic support around the ground, and plenty of memorable performances across the weekend.

Friday night saw the 1st XI win against Haslingden in the Neary Cup with strong batting displays from JJ Fielding (59) and Matt Griffin (57).

Saturday brought a superb game as the 1st XI booked their place in the next round of the Worsley Cup with a brilliant win over Rochdale. Harry Caton’s unbeaten 60 and Ben Pearson’s unbeaten 42 guided the team home after JJ Fielding impressed with the ball taking 3 wickets.

Sunday delivered another entertaining contest at Acre Bottom, with Ramsbottom posting 199 thanks to Tom Parton’s 59. Clitheroe chased well in reply, but it was another fantastic day of cricket played in front of a great crowd enjoying the sunshine.

Ramsbottom 2nd XI also celebrated a great win away at Clitheroe, with Louis Almond-Read leading the way with a superb 93 and Toby Anderson taking 4/28.

Monday saw Ramsbottom Women’s 1st XI secure an impressive victory over Clitheroe, posting 226 with Adelaide Mather starring with 69 before also taking 2 wickets in a strong all-round performance.

Ramsbottom 3rd XI battled hard against Todmorden, with Muhammad Saif-Javed top scoring with 30 and Isaac Almond-Read picking up 2 wickets.

A huge thank you to everyone who came down over the Bank Holiday weekend to support all the teams, help around the club, and create such a brilliant atmosphere throughout. Your support makes a massive difference. 💛💚
