We’ve got a full day of fun planned here in Ramsbottom this Sunday! With lots of live music happening throughout the day. 🤩

Plus funfair rides and a fantastic market in St Paul’s Church gardens where you can buy everything from cheese to cakes to handmade items! 🙌🏻

The opening ceremony commences at 10.30am, Pud throwing championship is from 11am - 5pm.

Come and join in with this wonderful community event, raising money for Bury Hospice and Ramsbottom Pantry! 🩷

POST EDIT – FRIDAY UPDATE! 🫶 A lovely group of volunteers have stepped in and taken on the pudding wrapping elsewhere, so we’re no longer needed on Friday! A huge thank you to everyone who was planning to come down and help, but this does mean there’ll be no wrapping (or free pints 🍺) at The Old Bank on Friday. Thanks for understanding! ❤️

❗️❕Right peeps! The World Black Pudding Throwing Championships are back next Sunday and they need your help!! ❕❗️

It’s a charity event raising funds for Ramsbottom Pantry and Bury Hospice and they need some help wrapping up the puds this Friday from 6pm at The Old Bank! Therefore in support of the event we are offering a FREE PINT to anyone who comes and lends a hand, it’ll be a bit of a laugh and something different for your Friday evening!

🍻 Fancy earning yourself a free pint?

Every year, in the run up to the World Black Pudding Throwing Championships, we get together to swaddle all the black puddings ready for the big day!

We’re looking for a few extra pairs of hands to join us next Friday 11th Sept from 6pm - 8pm at The Old Bank Ramsbottom to help get the puds prepared.

It’s always a good laugh, and there’s a free pint for everyone who comes along to help - drop us a message if you would like to get involved 😊

The annual black pudding throwing competition held in Ramsbottom town centre is back in full swing today.

🎉 THE OFFICIAL WORLD BLACK PUDDING THROWING CHAMPIONSHIP 2026! 🎉

📍 Bridge Street, Ramsbottom
📅 Sunday 13th September
⏰ 11am – 5pm

Come and join in with one of Ramsbottom’s most unique and much loved traditions - a competition where contestants throw black puddings at a 20ft-high plinth, aiming to knock off as many Yorkshire puddings as possible and battle it out to be crowned World Champion! 🏆

This historic tradition is said to date back to the Wars of the Roses, celebrating the age old rivalry between Lancashire and Yorkshire – with black puddings versus Yorkshire puddings! 🌹

Everyone is welcome to have a go! There’s a small charge to take part, with profits supporting local charities - Bury Hospice and Ramsbottom Pantry.
