Been working on this shawl to wear at for months every time I get 5 minutes and finally finished it this morning just in time.

Embracing being outdoors for a few days with wild hair, no makeup and being barefoot.

We’ve reached over 100,000 people 😮

Over at Saxon Forge our reach has blown up!

Here’s how:

Content - my husband has massively upped his content capturing game!

He’s set up tri pods, bought meta glasses and shot long form, short form and time lapse videos.

He’s created all his content in the instagram app, no Canva, no CapCut (do people still use CapCut?) specifically to increase out insta audience.

The result - we’ve doubled our following and 10 x our reach over a couple of months.

The input - time was the biggest input, which cost £0.
He’s getting quicker with practice, it probably takes him about 20 mins from start to finish. The glasses weren’t cheap but they aren’t a necessity (IMO)
Thought and consistency was key. The average was about two or three reels a week.

The goal was to increase our Instagram following and reach but it’s also massively widened our Facebook audience too.

There were no salesy CTA’s in any of the captions or content. This wasn’t about sales, it was about getting us out of our samey, stagnant reach and the great thing is, I hardly did any of the work! 🤣

If my hammer swinging, welder wielding husband can learn to up his social media game to reach a wider audience, you can too!

I was at a pony club rally during the last solar eclipse….

We made a Blue Peter projector, sat in the yard to watch it and the dogs and horses all fell asleep.

This time I’m hoping to ride to the pub with my friend (which happens to look like a great viewing spot from my reccy yesterday) and share the experience with Marley.

I’ve got a pair of my husband’s plasma cutting glasses and a sense of excitement and spontaneity.

My colleagues and I are taking part in a boat race to raise money for them, meaning we’ll be swapping our usual weekend activities for rowing, sweating and attempting to look vaguely coordinated in a boat! 🚣‍♂️😂

Today we went to the last day of The Big Cat Sanctuary Big Cat Fest and it didn’t disappoint…

We are massive fans of One Zoo Three in this house, a CBBC programme which features the three grandsons of Peter Sampson, founder of Hertfordshire Zoo who share with children Dexter’s age, the importance of conservation and the work they do at the zoo in a fun, age appropriate way. In my opinion, a lot better than some of the crap available to watch on Netflix and YouTube.

So when I saw that a book has been written about Peter’s life, his multiple career paths and how he’s gone from not really knowing a thing about zoos to pioneering global conservation and breeding programmes and passing the passion down multiple generations of his family, I acquired myself some new bedtime reading…
