U9’s: Who are we?? 💙 💛 💪

🏉 U9s Match Day Report | Monmouth RFC (Away) ❤️💪🏼

Another great morning of rugby for our U9s as we travelled away to Monmouth yesterday.

The focus was very much on continuing the work from Saturdays training, and the players did a fantastic job of listening to their coaches and putting those instructions into practice.

There were some really positive signs that the players are beginning to understand why we work on these things, not just what they need to do. Seeing the improvements from one session to the next is exactly what U9 rugby is all about.

👏 A special mention for the scrums!

This was the first time the team had played a game involving scrums, and they handled the scrum area really well considering it was completely new to them. Plenty to learn, but a great first step!

Today U11s travelled down the A449 to Monmouth and parents were treated to an excellent game of rugby. Following disappointment by the players the following weekend; every player stepped it up this week 💪🏻

The game was refereed excellently by Monmouth with the game allowed to flow with some excellent tries scored by Old Boys from great phase play and creating overlaps whilst also keeping it tight defensively with some fantastic turnovers.

Well done to Opposition POTM Charlie for an assured display at 9 controlling the game and taking some opportunities to snipe with 2 tries. Well done to Coaches POTM Eve who has really stepped it up playing at 10 or Centre since joining the club in summer.

The team ended the morning showing off their dummy club selections with any item beginning with B. The team brought a Baguette, Boxer Shorts, a Broom & a Brother alongside some other fantastic options.

Great team on the pitch and a great spirit shown by all off it.

Yesterday U11s travelled to Cwmbran where they came up against a very tough side. Some excellent Rugby on display during the 40 minutes from the home side with Old Boys battling hard throughout.

Well done to Matthew for winning Coaches Player of Match for some great running with ball in hand & Konrad for winning Opposition Player of Match for his effort throughout the 40 minutes.

Good luck Cwmbran RFC Under 11s 2026-2027 for the rest of the season.

NHSOB RFC U10s vs Cwmbran RFC U10s

The U10s travelled up this morning to take on Cwmbran RFC U10s in what was a fantastic game of rugby!

Both teams defended brilliantly and produced some great attacking rugby throughout. The Old Boys came away with 11 tries, but more importantly, every player was superb and resolute in their efforts. 👏

🏆 Player of the Match – Hudson
A fantastic performance from Hudson, with some great tackles, superb running lines and some fine tries!

💪 Team Player of the Match – Jaxon
A solid all-round performance from Jaxon, tackling well, running hard and showing a relentless work rate from start to finish.

🔥 Top Tackler – Griff
Another excellent effort with some big tackles!

Well done to all the Old Boys — a brilliant team performance and a great morning of rugby. 💙🏉

Our first game of the season away at Cwmbrân today, and what a fantastic morning of rugby!

Another week where we’re seeing confidence building, improvements happening and some fantastic rugby being played.

The progress from week to week is brilliant to see, with more tackles being made, players growing in confidence and everyone working hard for each other. 💪
