Over the weekend I was joined by Ian, Krish, Anna, Hal, Neil and David who were undertaking the Hill and Moorland Leader training. Three great days in glorious weather spent in the rolling hills of Eryri. Most of the crew are involved with the scheme delivery with .
Only downside was a super late night navigation session given the time of year - still we got to enjoy the stars! Well done all for getting stuck in 👏

Mountain Training Association

Back from an ace family trip to France late Sunday and straight into a Climbing Wall Instructor training course on Monday & Tuesday. Joined by Theo and Aisling—Beacon one day, Indy the next. Good vibes, great climbing!

Wed–Fri was my first Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI) training course of the season with Chris, Hawys & Jack.
All brought strong backgrounds and threw themselves into the process. Proper good start to the season!

Busy week. Definitely time for a deep dive in the kit room…

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of running two Mountain Leader assessment preparation days in the stunning Cwm Glas and Dyffryn Mymbyr areas of Eryri.

On Saturday, I worked with Nick, Val, and Frank, focusing on essential ML ropework skills. On Sunday, Nick, Val, and Poppy joined me as we honed navigation techniques in complicated mountain terrain.

These preparation days are invaluable for aspiring leaders, helping to bridge the gap between training and assessment by identifying progress and highlighting areas for further consolidation.

It’s always inspiring to see the dedication and growth of participants on their journey toward Mountain Leader and I wish them all the best of luck for upcoming assessments.
