It's been a funny old week... I've enjoyed a digital and admin detox. Which at first had me feeling all guilty as maybe customers will book elsewhere or think I am rude for not answering.
Alas if these are your thoughts then there has been a few reasons.
I am a one women business so I treated myself to a few days off. Even the phone was left behind or strictly on incognito mode... didn't even take any physical snapshots of my weeks personal adventures! Sometimes it's cool to take memories only.
What's been going on?
Well a dodgy forecast cancelled a ridge scramble (and didn't look too bad on the day), my Mum has been poorly and I am suffering the affects of some wear and tear (tendon and back stuff) which means mostly on crag side adventures for a few weeks.
Last week saw us on Tryfan... you know just to check all is well.

The selfie stick made it to the climbing wall đ
Still looking for its owner!
A great two days with Ann.. wasnât what we planned but sometimes the weather likes to show you itâs it charge.
Ann was a pleasure to coach. A very coachable lady. No more âwee barn-door Annâ.
A very unique personality, fiercely determined in all her outdoor pursuits but also has assembled some psychological barriers along the way. People are the best thing about my work.

When I discovered the benefits of walking poles
Six years ago, I got hit by the earth-shattering revelation that walking poles arenât just for old folks.
Balance? Check.
Stability? Injury prevention?
I never leave them at home. They are a permanent extension of my arms.
They stop you face-planting down steep bits and make you zip along fasterâuphill, too, with that extra arm boost. My knees and hips are saying thank you daily. Never going back.
The awkward phase passes soon after you get the hang of them. Let me show you how to pole like a pro.

Three blondes rub lotion into a young manâ but calm yourself down⌠itâs not the usual happy ending you might expect.
Well⌠because obviously, thatâs how we planned our weekend.
We found him, heat-stroked and clueless, passed out in the blazing sun, attempting to haul a pack up Crib y Ddysgl. What was a slow and steady group scramble, turned into a full rescue mission.
While we were a fit, prepared group, he had no sun protection, no water, and no clue. No hat or urgency in his personal condition.
So our gentle but sweaty day turned into a rescue mission. Lesson: The mountain wonât forgive your mistakes, but we might.
So Finlay, if you are out there I hope you managed cool down that evening and remember your hat and sunscreen for the next expedition.
Please donât underestimate the effects of the heat! Unless you want to be pinned down by us and factor 50.
